Probably like most people, I don't often need to remove/replace watch straps. It's not my job, and on the rare occasion when I needed to do it, I'd either work with a super-small flat head screwdriver to pry out the old retaining pins, or take the watch to a place that does minor watch repairs at the shopping mall. I came across this tool set while looking for a replacement watch band, and thought I'd give it a try. The real deal is the tool itself, the extra pins provided were not that important to me as I would typically reuse the existing ones. The size and design of the head(s) you have on the tool allow super easy extraction of strap pins, and reinstallation is a breeze too. Take a good look at the close up photos of the ends of the tool. The forked ends work like a dream, and let you get into tight spaces... just what you need. ANYWAY, I keep this tool set with my other watch-related items, and I'm very pleased with my purchase. I purchased this for the tool. The tool is high enough quality to use that I am not fearful I will damage my watch when using it. That is my main concern. Can I remove a bar precisely without scratching my watch? I feel these tools are good enough for the job and will save you money over buying a Bergeon tool. The added package of spring bars were a bonus. However, I would NOT trust these spring bars. Some have rusted tips, others are bent slightly. Use discretion before putting one of these spring bars in a valuable watch.

Works great. FYI, for those needing spring pins for Seiko diver bracelet extender buckle / clasp, the 1.5mm pins may be too thick or too large diameter. Mine measured 1.32mm x 21.5mm. However, the pins in this set worked well for bracelet links on various watches. And the tools make things so much easier. Nice kit.

Worked ok to remove the stainless steel band from a Hamilton watch, but I had to take the watch to a jeweler to get it put back on.

I have never installed a new band on a wristwatch before. It's a mystery. How do you get the spring bar out? Someone online suggested a jeweler's screwdriver. Forget it. I am good with small tools, but I quickly realized a special "spring bar tool" is needed. Those tools are available in many repair kits. This one was only $8.99 on Amazon, with Prime free delivery. It seemed too good to be true. It arrived in short order and to my amazement the instructions are in clear English. And they tell me exactly what I need to know. In about 5 minutes I had the old band off and the new band installed. The kit comes with tools that look very well made. The main tool comes with the tips protected by nice little plastic covers. A tweezer (which I didn't need for this job) is also included and was also protected by a cover over the tips, and this may be the finest tips on a tweezer I have ever seen. I anticipate using it to remove slivers and such. The kit comes with extra tips for the spring bar tool, and a large variety of different size spring bars. I didn't need those, since I used the spring bars that were holding the old band. This kit is well worth the price. In fact, I feel guilty for paying so little.

Ich hatte mich auf dieses Werkzeug und die Möglichkeit gefreut, endlich selbst Uhrenarmbänder wechseln zu können. Lasst die Finger von diesem Werkzeug. Ihr ärgert euch nur! Die beiden austauschbaren Werkzeuge sind für die Federstifte in Uhren völlig ungeeignet. Sie verbiegen sich sehr schnell. Das Werkzeug ist vor allem nicht ansatzweise genau genug gearbeitet, um entsprechend zwischen Federstift und Uhr zu kommen. Ich habe es bei einer Skagen- Uhr versucht. Keine Chance. Am liebsten würde ich 0 Sterne oder sogar Minus- Sterne für dieses Werkzeug vergeben.
