Crimson Glory

The supreme leaders of progressive metal and their debut classic masterpiece is astonishingly polished for their nascent production ! I Love this more than Queensryche and even more than Fates Warning ! If this were a bottle of wine it would be a Chateaux Latour or Chateaux Margot or Chateaux Lafite ! I dare not listen to it often for fear of remembering every nuance and note that resonates beauty into my heavy metal heart !!! J.P. McDonald had a voice so tasteful and emotional that if it doesn't give you goosebumps than you should stick to garbage rock i.e., Bon Jovi or Wham.

This is one of the best heavy metal albums I've ever heard. Crimson Glory (CG) is a band that delivers the exact amount of energy and talent in each piece of this release. They play some kind of power metal, with progressive touches. Their style is very sheer. CG is probably influenced by Iron Maiden, but the influence is not so evident. They know how to combine an agressive sound with elegance, power, mistery and fine art.Also, the production of this CD is almost perfect. Vocals are operatic, majestic and powerful. Voices are the main piece in this show, and they're very well integrated to the musical background. The singer (which is called "Midnight") is capable of reaching the highest pitches, but his voice is also full of mistery and "mass" in the lowest tones. I'd say he's one of the best metal vocalist ever. In addition, guitars are clean and very well synchronized. The bass and the drums are perfect too.This album and the one that follows (Transcendence) are their best works. If you like power metal or progressive rock, this one is for you. Though their sound is very different from other bands you may know, you won't be disappointed with CG. Highly recommended!

An old favourits from the 80s this album is brilliant i loved it when it came out and still want to listen to it now. The vocalalist called Midnight is amazing wow what a voice. Rock fantasy opera you cant get more over the top than this. The guitars are brilliant too. If youve never heard this album i feel sorry for you. Worth buying just for lost reflections the last song on the album. Buy and you will love it forever.

I have to say, I'm more into my 'softer' metal but I purely had to buy this album for the powerful vocals of 'Midnight' alone. One of the greatest vocalists I've heard and really nice use of guitar riffs. Not your typical metal band and it's a shame they didn't get more recognition!

My husband had this album in his younger days. Takes him back in time.
