APCOM BPV Aqua-Flash Bypass Pressure Relief Valve

I have a Nevercold system installed. My system is a multi-split and needed an additional bypass valve off another leg on the water system. This was a great addition and helped solved my cold hot water issues. Quick and easy to install.

Excellent build quality. I much prefer brass versus plastic for bypass fittings. Overall this is a quality kit. Hopefully if it gets plugged up, it might be possible to open and clean out thereby extending it’s useful life.

Having instant hot water is a great addition and saves water and time. However, the downside for this convenience in the kitchen is that the cold water is no longer cold and requires waiting for and wasting water when you need to rinse your fruits and vegetables. I had to add and insulate a return line that goes directly back to the water heater, leaving the cold water line to supplying cold water. The insulated return line also allows warmer water directly back to the water heater rather than cooler water because of longer routing without insulation.

Does not work using it with multiple devices

This is my second Aqua Flash valve and any time water is flowing this valve knocks rather loud. I make it stop by turning off the hot water supply line to the distant sink so my daughter can sleep. I cannot recommend this item at all. Supposedly, a different model that mounts on the cold water side is now available but I don't see it on Amazon.UPDATE: After two very disappointing valves I actually got in touch with the Aqua-flash company. A very nice lady listened to my complaint. I ask about the new version of the valve that fits on the cold water line instead of the hot water line. She assured me that the new version would be quieter and proceeded to send me (free) a new cold water valve plus a time clock for my ApCom pump which had also failed. I installed the new versions and everything is working perfectly and quiet. I new give them 5 stars without hesitation.

It Works As Watts Replacement Bypass Valve. I had a knocking sound. I called Aqua Flash Technical Support. She said the version that attach to hot angle stop is an old version. She will send new version that install on Cold angle stop.

Purchased 2 of these for my system. After a week one of them started pulsing/knocking in the pipes (pex) until you opened up a hot water line in the system. Pulled one and swapped it with the other, knocking went away on that line. Installed the wonky one in the line that didn't know, and it started knocking at 1 second intervals like before.....
