Royal Icing recipe: 2 cups powdered sugar (does not need to be sifted) 2 table spoons Meringue Powder 1/4 cup warm water 1/2 teaspoon clear vanilla or flavoring of your choice. Add more water to reach the consistency you need. It yields 2 cups royal icing. The great thing about this recipe that is easy to double or triple. Please NOTE: We recommend using egg whites instead meringue powder when making Meringue Pies or Meringue Cookies. Ingredients: Sugar, Dextrose, Dried Egg Whites (With Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), Cream of Tartar, Algin, Salt, Sodium, Calcium Sulfate, Hexametaphosphate, Locust Bean Gum, Xanthan Gum, Artificial Flavor. Shelf Life: Over 1 year if kept in cool dry area. Review: Tasted bad by itself but made great cookie icing - Incredible flavor. I used Color Flow since my Mom made cookies since I was a kid with that. It had simple and basic ingredients. Tasted bad by itself but made great cookie icing. Now Wilson sells you only their Meringue powder to make royal Icing or cookie Icing. The stuff taste funny. It taste like chemicals. I sure wish Wilson went back to selling the Color Flow stuff. But since they will probably not. I will use this brand. It taste good even in powder form. Resembles the taste of the Wilson Color Flow once icing is made. I just want the simple powdered Egg Whites with Sodium Lauryl Sulfate in it like COLOR FLOW was. But this brand is the best you will find. Its a good product. I just don't like Cream of Tarter and the other stuff added. This product DESERVES A FIVE. Just miss less complicated ingredients in my stuff. Because the Sugar Cookies my Mom showed me how to make are the best I have ever eaten and People eat them like Potato chips. They cant stop. They are that good. Really. The simple Color Flow icing was part of the trick. If your like me and are looking for a replacement. This is as good as it gets. At least that I could find. Review: Good product - Good product for price

DO NOT BUY THIS IF YOU NEED STIFF ICING
This is a definite no for me. I tried making two batches of royal icing as I would with CK meringue powder or Wilton meringue powder. After over 10 minutes of whipping surely didn't get a stiff royal icing like I need to decorate sugar cookies. I did notice the powder looked more like confectioners sugar than the usual meringue powder I have used. I took the following picture to illustrate how different Wilton meringue powder is versus this kind. I have had great success with CK and Wilton. (Wilton on the left, Cake Supplies on right) I would NOT recommend this product. Wish I had read other reviews of it before switching from products I like. Other people have agreed with me.

My Favorite Meringue Powder for Royal Icing
I've used Wilton and CK Products meringue powder and this is by far my favorite. I only use meringue powder for royal icing on sugar cookies. This stuff works amazing for that! It makes my royal icing taste better and also works very well in regards to decorating my cookies. Wilton was full of chemicals and smelled horrible. CK Products also makes a great meringue powder, but I like this one better from Cake Supplies on Sale. The first ingredient is sugar, not cornstarch. I had no issues with my royal icing peaking.

Used this to make royal icing, turned out great. Is not explicitly gluten free but I used it anyway and no one had a reaction. It shouldn't contain gluten but cross contamination is always possible. If you are incredibly sensitive you will want to find one that is made in a gluten-free facility.
