wroks great
this item works great the big thing is that you have to keep the disc wet when it is trying to clean off scratches so make sure to use the spray that comes with it i use about 2 squirsts on each disc if it sounds like it is boging down to much for you add another spray then after useing the rejuvinating spray letting the disc go around two revolutions one good spray with the dick cleaner is all i need i wipe it down with the towl that they give you with it and i have a cd that barly skips when befor it had a good amound of damage to it

Poor performance and corroded batteries
3 stars can not give 5 it came with corroded batteries had to go buy new ones and worked perfect on one disc the next 2 it turned very slowly.... could have been a defective one as I replaced batteries 4 times after 3 hours apart over 2 days for a cool down period for machine on the 4th set of new brand name batteries about 3.5 hours between on day 2 it worked for Half of a disc and stopped permanently again I might have just gotten a bad one it happens with tons of products

Very happy with it
Very happy with it. It didn't come with a dc adapter but there is a place to plug one in. It did come with batteries but after about 5 disk repairs is bogging down. I recommend getting the dc adapter with this product. It is a good tool to have around for young and old gamers alike.

Skipdr Xbox cleans great, Repairs nothing!!
A pet peeve I have developed is product reviews that are just complaints about the seller, the shipping or a defective item (which can be returned). It is only when we have what we ordered in its correct working order that we can evaluate it for what it should be against what we are told it is.This thing just sux.Short Bus version:1) Does not have the power with batteries2) Charger is another $20+ bucks, making it a $50+ system that does not work3) Employes a single cleaning surface system to do ALL phases from buffing to removing scratches with the liquids determining whether it is cleaning or buffing (absurd)4) The micro-fine 1/4 inch wide wheel will not last many cycles (physically impossible)5) While a Skipdr might be great for polishing up discs or dvd's and can remove light scratches (not one deep enought to matter) or oxidation film (that would keep it from working) or lots of little scratches (that would affect reading as well) for makeing an Xbox game that is unreadable readble just stay clear.6) Other reviews talk about removing scratches, they are missleading (big surprise). The skinny:-It DOES NOT come with a charger and while that is stated in the ad, there is no excuse for it at 26.00+.-It DOES NOT operate worth a darn with batteries. This thing pulls 1amp and you will not get the power from batteries after about 2 or 3 cycles.-It DOES NOT clean the disc period. I have had to learn about people that are somehow connected to products and thus leave bogus reviews. for 26.00+ I do not believe we are looking for a device that can take a game that has been weathered and make it readable, but we are looking for a machine that can take a game that has been scratched and weathered and make it readable even if it takes 10 cycles. This is NOT that machine-I am certain to be mechanically inclined and am also certain a hand operated one for 10.00 would have produced the same results (which happen to be poor).-Is NOT worth 26.00+ have I mentioned that already ? since this is the Xbox version, I must say it simply does not do what it should. repair a disc. the facy fluids are just water and a drop of rubbing alcohol.-It DOES NOT remove scratches. Lots of little fine scratches that have covered the disc, sure, go for it. Still not worth $26.00+ A deep scratch will not be removed, and before some third grader decides to bag on what a 'deep' scratch is, just read on how this machine works. The liquids determine the 'cleaning' power while the superfine surface of the wheel grinds that liquid home. It is physically impossible for that wheel to ever remove enough disc surface to do squat. So one does not need a very deep scratch, EVEN A SCRATCH THAT IS NOT AFFECTING THE DISC BEING READ CAN EASILY BE 'TO DEEP' FOR THIS MACHINE.I purchased this assuming I might need to run it a few times to get the scrateched out caused by my daughters bumping into the machine and the laser hitting it and scratching the blazes out of the game. 15 cycles later I can BARELY see any progress. I am certain the wheel will be worn out before this gets fixed.I will post the results when I have them. For cleaning them up so they look shiny and new, Skipdr would be great, the Xbox version is trash. Look at the other systems, like the autumatic machines or kits....they use a multi-tool sytem..different polishing and cleaning mediums for different stages. there is no way a little water, rubbing alcohol and a 3000 grit strip 1/4 inch wide will fix anything.. had there been multiple wheels with different grit surfaces for cleaning, we might have a winner.I know there are reviews that say it removes scratches and "now my game works", sorry, but the laws of physics compel me.There are NO magic versions of this, its not a lottery ticket and MAYBE you got the good one. I have the power cable and short of using a serious abrassive liquid, what it takes to remove scratches is not worth it. It does polish the surface to where even after the 15 cycles I am certain it would play if not for the ring of scratches...Would recommed to STAY AWAY...

Great product!!
I was able to fix 4 disks on the first try guys. At first, I did not believe that it would be able to fix a perfect circular laser burn with a product that costs that low. But since it is not expensive, I went for it. Those people who wrote bad reviews are STUPID! They either used it to fix NON Xbox disks or did not follow the instructions properly. Ignore their reviews! My advice to you is TRY The Skip Dr FOR Xbox. You won't be disappointed I promise you because it DOES WORK!

Damaging
It made a scratched disc play sometimes, but freeze often & it's not repaired enough to install the game to the hard drive which was my plan. (To take advantage of the xbox hard drive install feature.)

This actually WORKED
Brand new Dead Island Riptide was only a week old.. My 2.5 year old jumping around xbox created the dreadful ring scratch.. Almost a double ring scratch.. Disk completely locked up xbox and counldnt read.. Ordered this SkipDr.. With only one cycle, the game worked.. Still glitched a bit.. So i ran disk through SkipDr two more times.. Game works like a charm.. Can still see ring on disks, but its playable for sure.. A++++ For saving my 60 dollar game Digital Innovations.

LOVE IT!
I own both a manual and now auto disc repair system, I can honestly say I havent have a bad experience with these as long as you use the right amount of repair fluid...not too much..not too little... it has repaired countless discs already that I have tried using every other orm and robably damadged them more than if I wouldve just waited to use the Skip Dr! I will be buying more and several of the different discs

utile

Review on experience with testing.
I don't have any discs i've brought brand new that need cleaning because i really look after my games and dvds but my brother on the other hand he buys traded games etc so this is a great thing to consider.Traded in games often have some scratches and if you ever buy a game that's on offer and it doesn't work you can use this to fix it.Level of damage must be considered, if you have "decimated" don't think you can repair it i.e if you turn your xbox on it's side while reading a disc so a ring will grind into the outter part of the disc.TESTS I'VE DONEBrought game from gamestation, did not load at all wiped it down then it loaded the main menu but would not go any further. So i then INSTALLED the game to see the progress i could reach. It got to 49% everytime and failed "Unreadable Disc" etcRan it through this machine for around 1-2 minutes and tried to install the game it got to 100% so it works 100% perfect. My brother had a game that always crashed when he loaded his saved game. After using this it got rid of LOADS of scratches then the disc simply worked and i got him to try to install it and it installed 100%NOWHe also had a Halo Reach multi-player disc that was seriously damaged, i think he had it in his old xbox and his xbox knocked or something so it grinded a ring around it.This disc was unsuccessful using the machine. In conclusion this machine is great to clean and repair discs if you have discs that have got slightly damaged over time or if they have been borrowed or brought second hand.Discs that are seriously damaged won't always be repairable, obvious really... You can't expect miracles. But seriously this product is great, it fixed a game i was considering bringing back to the shop (2nd hand one).Another good application would be DVDs and Blu Rays, if you have ever had a glitchy movie this is your tool.Them scratches cause the laser to skip sometimes and this simply grinds off the surface to create a flatter surface (depending how deep the scratches are)
