Ortofon: Cartridge Alignment Tool

This item is necessary to align your ($99.00+) cartridge, so it should be free. So much is spent on packaging between the turntable and upgraded cartridge it would've been nice.

Makes my $500 original master of ice ice baby sound like god. Huey Lewis would approve and excuse me I have to return some vinyl .

It wasn't clearly stated either in the description or packaging, but this is a Baerwald protractor. This is good to know if you are going to make sure it's compatible with the tone arm and cartridge you are attempting to align.As an item itself, it's pretty overpriced for a piece of thin card plastic with a pre-printed pattern on it. However, many things in the record world are highly overpriced (was looking up record dividers, which are pieces of plastic, and these can sell for over $500?!??) and this was on the mild side comparatively.I'd recommend this for someone like me: amateur vinyl collector, might need to align a cart once every couple of years, and doesn't want to fuss with printing stuff off. It's sturdy and will likely last a lifetime.

Once Again The Ortofon Name Dose It Again With This Dead Accurate Cartridge Alignment Tool:: No Sooner That I Put It On My Turntable It Was So Very Easy To Use And The Price Was Right Too::: I Have Tried Using The Mirror One But Found It To Be A Little Confusing Because You Have To Be At A Certain Angle To Get A Clear Response BUT Ortofon Makes It Much Easier To Use The Minute It's On The Turntable Platter And So I Give It FIVE STARS For Sure!!!!!!

Nice clean lines and easy to read, although fidgeting with a cartridge can be still cumbersome.You will of course wonder why you paid so much for a piece of laminated carboard, and I have no answer to that.But you do need one i you ever install a cartridge or want to check yours.I also have the mirrored one, but that just gets cluttered and I see no benefit to that, unless you want to feel like you got something more for your money.Interesting note - my project came with a similar scale on a simple piece of paper in the manual, but they don't line up exactly.

Great tool for anyone who does turntable alignment. This works perfect for me because there is no mirrored finish that gives me false readings. (I have a problem right eye as to why I can't use the mirror). It is marked clearly for everything that you need for alignment including overhang. It is well constructed and flexible and quite accurate. I am very satisfied with this tool and highly recommend it for all adjustable turntables. Great product at a great price.......

I can understand why some say it is overpriced, but it seems very accurate and well constructed, and should last a long time (even if its only used once in a while)
