Just released! Our WS5M-HC water softener is the new entry to our product line. Using a high flow - low pressure drop 1.25" valve, the softener can handle up to 35 GPM. This unit is equipped with the new Fleck 7000 valve (1.25" connections standard), and uses an integral microprocessor based control. The programmable control utilizes high efficiency regeneration to minimize salt consumption. The beige colored resin tank, manufactured by Structural, is poly lined and fiberglass reinforced. The standard softener is a "two tank" configuration with a separate poly brine tank in almond. A system by-pass valve is included along with the purchase of any unit.

Great product as well as the price!
Received this faster then light and in great shape! It was everything that all the reviews said and more, plus their customer service replied to my questions with GREAT answers within in a hour or two of me sending it. Very easy setup, and yes, the instructions are not great, BUT, they immediately emailed me a pdf of detailed instructions AND I received a booklet in the mail as well. I did pay a plumber (first time I have paid pretty much anyone to do work for me) as I was nervous about cutting into the main in my garage. Anyway, the plumber did a decent enough job (will do it in copper when the wife and kids to to her parents next summer) and my wife and kids are ecstatic about it! Read the instructions....read them again, then once again. It isn't rocket science, no doubt, and if you have any questions, contact them. They will answer. Couple of pics from my install. IMO, you can't go wrong with this one....I sure didn't. Will post more in a month or so to update this post.

Great water softener
I bought this exact configuration from a different seller, and this Fleck 7000 SXT head and tank REALLY works well. This unit replaced a Whirlpool, which worked fine for a few years but eventually, the salt corroded the electronics in the head (the whirlpool unit was an all-in-one tank and brine unit), and it stopped working. It was actually cheaper to replace the unit (vs repairing the whirlpool), which lead me to do a lot of research. To date, I've had no problems with this Fleck unit and the price was great. Don't get sucked into the considerably more expensive water softener brands....the science to softening water is the same. I highly recommend!

Don't buy a do-it-yourself model
If you insist on buying a softner that you have to do it yourself, you will probably end up actually doing it yourself: everything up to softning your water too!!! I installed a Fleck 7000 and had a professional do the work. I never really thought the unit was working and have spent endless hours talking with the supplier, who was nice, getting instructions on how to set things. After 1 1/2 years and my wife telling me I better get it working or else, I have decided to go to one that I know works, Culligan. This Fleck does not soften the water it continually breaks down and keeps running until I reverse the flow and back wash it, then flip it back. Because it does this and it's days before I catch it, you can imagine how much water is spent. My last months bill was 95.00. Sorry but I can spend that on a unit that works. DanO
