Really solid headphones. Great support. Weak wires.
I've had my IEHP for less than a week so far, so I'm likely to change my review in the future.Looks: They look pretty nice. I like the understated look with no bright chrome or shiny accents. The grey plastic and unfinished wood has a Land Rover-esque style and handsomeness.Functionality: As with most headphones in this range, they come with a variety of tips and sizes. I was able to find one that sounds and fits fine. The remote is nice, with a volume, start/stop, skip and go back feature. I like that the cord is fairly short. I'm about 5'10" and the cord reaches from my jean pocket to my ear with just a bit of slack. If you're much taller, it may not be suitable. Because of the short cord and it's material, the headphones feel rather light. The ear piece themselves are not light but there isn't much cord drag to weigh them down more.Unfortunately, the cord material creates a some noise when shifting around. If you accidentally bat your cord it will sound like a boom in your ears. You can't wrap the cord over you ear lob like other buds because the cord doesn't wrap or flex very well and because the volume/mic remote will be right at ear level, which looks and feels very strange. I'm also concerned with either the cord durability or possibly the quality control. My unit experiences unwanted behavior whenever you touch the cord around the plug. Pushing or tugging the cord causes the remote to fire the start/stop command. Walking or sitting causes the it to start stop repeatedly. I am currently waiting for customer support to return the unit.Sound: Big bass sound, but in a nice way most the time. By no means a flat or reference piece. It is lacking in the mid-range department and can feel flat and lacking life with some music. Some songs just have ridiculous bass which can be annoying, especially when it's not a beat but more of a ongoing droning bass note. I've also noticed a lot of this effect is volume based. At higher volumes, mids and high catch up to the strong bass and at low volumes it also sounds somewhat balanced. Around the 40-50% volume range has the highest over bass effect, unfortunately that is my general listening level. Great sensitivity. 75% volume will blow your ears off. Even though these headphones aren't noise canceling they do a terrific job of blocking outside noise. Under normal listening levels it's nearly impossible to hear my wife. Might give you a spook if you're outside or tend to space out... you won't hear people, cars, dogs or anything else creeping up on you.Overall: I like the look, feel and functionality of the buds. They fit well and can wear them easily a couple hours at a time. Sound isn't as balanced as I would like, but they still sound nice and can really thump when you want to rock out. Subtracting 1 star for the bass heavy sound bias which isn't consistent with volume and 1 star for the quality control. If support provides me a working model then I will add that star back on, if support fails to help, I am likely to deduct one additional point.Update:Sound and comfort drastically improved by swapping out the ear cups. Used the large cups from a set of Panasonic RPHJE120S ($7.99) which, size wise, fall right in between the large and medium ones supplied by Grain and it fits my ear much better. It also lessened the bass, evened out the sound quite a bit and are a bit softer than the ones supplied by Grain, which are nice quality but on the firm side. After contacting support by email, a new pair of headphones was sent out by Fedex the following day. The new pair work perfectly and with the new ear cups, sound great. Added back one star for the great support and one star for the improved sound with such a simple mod.Further update. These headphones have been returned and I have moved on to a pair of rha headphones which are much more durable. The second pair of phones experienced the same quality issue as the first pair. Reducing by two stars. Can't recommend for daily use.

Use the right tip before judging!!! (for these and any earbuds)
First, let me say that my initial impression of these was good, not stellar. I used the ear tip size I had normally used on previous buds and figured why not try them all. Turns out trying the largest size created a full seal and suddenly the sound went from good to amazing! Bass started booming, without being muddy. The sound on these is better than any I've tried (i.e. a few Beats by Dre and Bose). For $100, these are the ones to get, without question. The only con so far is lack of an alligator clip! Come on guys, thrown one in. Most people don't use them anyway, but if you want to reduce noise from cable rubbing on fabric, use the clip! Luckily I have an old one to use.Would be nice if the connector was L-shaped, but it's not their fault Apple started putting the jack on the bottom of the phone, so now I wish connectors were all L shaped.Great sound, the remote is great, feels good in the ear, as long as they last, 5 stars easily!

Earbuds sound good but Company doesn't exist anymore
I purchased these earbuds in 2015 they sound good, have good bass and decent highs, I had them for about a year before the cable pulled out of the 1/8" plug. No problem they still work, then maybe 6 months after that the right earbud stopped working. I paid $100 for these and I would say its not worth it (not to mention that they are now for sale on here for $400+ which is ridiculous) plus the company doesn't exist anymore but even when they did I submitted multiple requests to get them fixed but no response. Bummer.

Great sound, terrible quality.
update--- quality control is nearly non-existent. in the last 9 months, i've had 3 pairs of these. all warrantee replacements, all died the same way. the third pair *just died* and after only 2 months of use. what happens? the jack flakes out. you lose the inline remote, you lose signal from time to time, then one ear goes, then the second. great sound, scuttled by a .25 cent part. to their credit, grain customer service is usually on the ball (only sometimes have to email them twice), and ship replacements promptly. after 3 lemons though, i give up...-------1.) proper fit. they ship with a few different sizes of rubber nubs. try them all. if you don't get a proper seal happening you'll be pretty underwhelmed by the sound quality. most of the negative reviews here read exactly as i felt upon first listen. i guess it's like putting in ear plugs -take a little practice. once you get the right fit and seal, however, the sound is unbelievably rich, bass hits pretty hard.2.) speaking on the phone via headset. remember when you'd share music with your friends hi-fidelity style and you'd let them wear your headphones and they'd say, "YEAH, SOUNDS REALLY GOOD!" using the headset on phone calls is kinda like that. you don't hear your voice the same way you do with apple/non sealed earbuds. it's a little bizarre the first few times, but you do adjust to it. the mic on the other hand isn't great. i have to speak twice as loud and if the paddle is turned over, my voice gets lost in my shirt (unlike the iPhone headset). wrote grain about this but never heard back.3.) running/exercise. they do have the stethoscopic thing going on, but apparently that's common in all IEHPs. also, i guess because of the wood, or the shape, or the center of gravity because of the wood, they don't like staying put when i run, which is not fun. would not recommend these things for runners.you do feel a little isolated in general. like, it's harder to have a conversation with the checkout person while you're wearing them -especially if music is still playing. that said, the trade off is obvious, the sound quality is undeniable. for what it's worth, my other headphones are a pair of grado SR225is. i'm far from an audiophile but i'd like to think i have at least a vague understanding of what sounds good. these *definitely* sound good, and if you're upgrading/moving away from apple earbuds, you will not be disappointed. you just may be a little unnerved (until you read this).oh yeah, and i was skeptical, but the grey actually looks really good in person.
