2 Drop Pull Tools, 2 Kistkas, 1 Beeswax, Wire, 5 Dyes Easter Egg Decorating Kit

I was surprised that this kit only came in a plastic bag instead of a box, as did other pysanky kits, but it included the same items and more-- beeswax strips and drop pull kitskas which I was unfamiliar with using. Everything that you will need, including detailed instructions come with this kit so don't let the size fool you. All you need to provide is a candle to heat the kitskas (a small candle in a jar or votive works best for us) and of course the eggs. This kit doesn't say, but another kit we ordered several years ago suggested using whole eggs, not blown, which can be too delicate to handle the various steps. The insides of the egg eventually dry up, and unless they crack, will not smell or leak. We have made them this way from the beginning, and years later they are still beautiful. (The insides do indeed dry up-- gently shake them and listen!) I was very satisfied with this kit. The included dyes are a little weaker than what we have used, but I purchased additional dyes separately and added these.

This kit arrived in just a few days after ordering. The kit came with five dyes, two kistkas, two drop tools, one wire cleaning tool, twelve pieces of strip wax, once chunk of wax, five egg dyes and instructions. The dye colors are pretty, fast acting, intense and makes enough dye to color many, many eggs. The two kistkas that came in the kit, A medium and A large.They are easy to use and each is color coded on the ends so you can see which size they are. I like the strip wax because it's easy and quick to break off a little piece and place it in the kistkas. I haven't used the drop tools yet. This has been a fun, relaxing hobby to learn. This is just what I wanted, an inexpensive kit with everything in it I needed to start learning how to make my own Pysanky.

My college age daughter and I were successful in coloring our eggs with the wax and dyes. We plan to make more over the next year so we will have many to display next Easter. We did drain our eggs and used small drill bits to make holes by hand. We then used a bulb syringe designed from an earwax removal kit to push the egg through the bottom hole. Look for some videos on the internet if you need help with doing this for the first time. There are lots of examples of designs that help us with our creations. We also bought jumbo eggs so they are a little large and more room for decorations. It was a fun experience. Sorry the picture turned sideways.

I have an old kit from 20 years ago, but it only has 1 Kistka. We wanted more tools for a family party and this was great. It was fun to try the drop pull tools. Both types of tools take some getting used to, and we found that the kistkas were easiest to use if we cut the strips of beeswax into short pieces (the long pieces were awkward for us). The dyes are nice and bright, but it would be fun to have some more colors. All in all, this made a fun family activity.

I love this project. I am always looking for a craft I can do just to use some of my creative energy, and for me psanky has been the best fit yet! I researched lots of kits before I purchased this one. I find it has all I needed to get started and I am very happy with it.

Amazingly high quality! We put all of the colors in mason jars so we can come back and do more! The kids had a blast! Worth every penny!
