Great solitaire game, plays like a video game from the 90's!
I recently purchased Under Falling Skies by Czech Games Edition, and it has quickly become one of my favorite solo board games. Some highlights: 1. Engaging Gameplay: The gameplay is brilliantly designed, with a perfect balance of strategy and luck. Each decision feels impactful, and the escalating tension as the alien ships descend adds an exciting challenge. The game mechanics are easy to grasp but offer enough depth to keep you coming back for more. 2. High Replay Value: Under Falling Skies includes a campaign mode with multiple scenarios, each introducing new challenges and twists. This ensures that the game stays fresh and exciting, providing hours of entertainment. The modular setup also allows for varied game experiences, making each playthrough unique. 3. Quality Components: The game components are top-notch, with sturdy, well-designed pieces and a clear, intuitive layout. The artwork is visually appealing and enhances the thematic feel of the game. The compact box size is a plus, making it easy to store and travel with. 4. Solo Play Focus: As a solo board game enthusiast, I appreciate that Under Falling Skies is specifically designed for solo play. The game flows smoothly without the need for complex rule adjustments or awkward automatic systems, providing a seamless and immersive experience. 5. Challenging and Rewarding: This game strikes the perfect balance between being challenging and rewarding. It requires strategic thinking and careful planning, but the sense of accomplishment when you successfully fend off the alien invasion is immensely satisfying. Overall, Under Falling Skies is a must-have for any solo board game collection. Its engaging gameplay, high replay value, and quality components make it a standout game that I highly recommend. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or new to solo board games, you’re sure to enjoy this thrilling and immersive experience. Good value overall

Great game
Great solo game with a lot of replayability and variable difficulty. You won't be playing this on an airplane tray table, but it doesn't take a lot of table space, either.

A great solo game, and very replayable
Very impressed. The dice allocation is very clever, with tradeoffs and hard choices all over the place. The mandatory reroll is such a simple but amazing mechanism; you're taking some chances, but when? There's a little luck to keep it interesting, but it's nearly all input luck (that is, your set of available options is random, but how you apply them is deterministic), so you rarely feel totally out of control. The value proposition is really high. There's a ton of content. I learned the game (3 games) then finished the campaign (9 games) and probably saw 40% of the content. But every game will be different based on the scenario, the city, the sky tiles, and the characters, each of which is well thought out and requires a different way of thinking. Let alone the dice, where even replaying the same setup can differ quite a bit. So I don't get the (minor) complaints about replayability. Also, keep the packing frames, as you can reassemble the game and "gift" it to someone else if you tire of it, or replay the campaign almost like the initial unboxing. Also, you can use the frames to keep the map steadier when you play, as they can shift and get a little messy otherwise (depending mostly on the slickness of your table surface).

Great solo game
Easy to learn, fun gameplay. Great value considering all that’s included in addition to the base game.

Great game
One of the top solo only games and it doesn’t disappoint. Very puzzly and you can make it as hard as you like. Campaign mode adds lots of extras and challenges.

This is a great game
I have played this game several times now and have not even started the campaign. I can see a lot more games in my future. The quality of the game is great and once you have played it a few times this is a very smooth game.

Great Solo game
Great Solo board game! Medium sized play area, a little longer than most but enough for a table. I have played it on a slant to easily move pieces while sitting down. Easy to learn, replay value is high, transportable. Great colors, art and minis

For the game 5 star! Lots of fun playing. Great Solo experience, tight win or loose. Played 4 times the day i received it. Packaging from Amazon SG was not good, a simple plastic bag no bubbles for minimum protection. I'm lucky only a corner was dented and not more. I know people might mind more then me so I added picture.

Curva de aprendizaje rápida. Mucha rejugabilidad.

Have played several games over the last few days since receiving this and boy is it good! Bought at the same time as a few other solo games but this has kept me coming back for “just one more game”. Setup is quick and easy, rules are simple to grasp and the game play is fast paced. Quality of the boards and figures are good. Box is quite weighty with all the campaign pieces so perhaps not a game if you want to play when travelling! Basically, the game is Space invaders in a table top format. There are three distinct phases in the gameplay: Dice phase - strategic placement of the dice in the rooms of your underground base. This also allows the enemy ships in that particular column to decend by the value of each die. Rooms phase - carry out the actions of the rooms you have placed the dice on (generate energy, activate fighters, create research points or excavate your underground base further opening up new rooms for use) Mothership phase - the mothership drops one row and has a consequence action you need to carry out (additional enemy ships released, loss of research points or retreat of the excavator). Gameplay on the Roswell starter level is about 20-30 minutes. The board is quite long so make sure you have plenty room on your table for the setup (approx 70cm) Aside from the basic game there is also a campaign to get your teeth stuck into. I’ve yet to venture into the campaign elements as there is still variety in the base game to keep me going for a good while yet! Each throw of the dice gets you thinking how to make the best possible play and the pressure builds as the alien ships get closer to your base. It’s also very replayable, with no two games alike. A thoroughly enjoyable game which is steadily becoming my go to solo fix. Price is good for what you get in the box (£29). A thumbs up from me 👍🏻
