Turtle Beach Titanfall Ear Force Atlas Official Xbox One Xbox 360 PC Gaming Headset

I wanted to love the Titanfall headset from Turtle Beach and looking for a jack-of-all-trades device that could have the flexibility to work with Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC seemed too good to be true. Well, it was. The headset’s plastic construction feels cheap, junky and hollow as though any bend too far away from how they were molded would cause them to break almost immediately. I got apprehensive taking them with me to work to test the audio further listening to music, podcasts, etc. This only proved to make me dislike them further. The pads that go over the ears of the wearer squeeze with a hulk-like grip that served to give me a headache after about 30 minutes, forcing me to remove them. This proved consistent with when I attempted to use them online. Wearing time is extremely limited. Sound is sub-par as well, easily trailing behind most other headsets or headphones on the market for roughly the same $150 price. The mike functions adequately on par with the Xbox One headset as well. So taking all that into account, other than the Titanfall branding, I fail to understand how Turtle Beach can justify the price tag given what it’s offering to consumers. Sure, it works with three different platforms. Other than that, there really isn’t a viable reason for any self-respecting person to shell out $150 for this product. Unless you really like Titanfall and have the money to burn. But for the price, there’s several significantly better alternatives.

Okay, 4-1/2 stars... I'm impressed with this headset after using it constantly for two days since the Titanfall release! My other two pairs of headsets are the Tritton Xbox 360 and Ear Force Delta (MW3) headsets. I have to say that the Ear Force Atlas is my favorite one. The Atlas was comfortable on my cranium for several consecutive hours of fragging enemy pilots and dooming titans. Be sure to pull the headset out lightly to make the fit comfortable. After all the hissing, popping, crackling and fadeouts I experienced with the Delta I was amazed at the clarity of the Atlas. There is absolutely no extraneous audio! Complete silence when on the Xbox One dashboard! The included Xbox One Chat Adapter channels all audio, voice, power and controls and is very easy to operate with either thumb. The headset plugs into the Xbox One Chat Adapter which in turn plugs into the Xbox One controller. Chat is very clear. If I had to say some negative things about this headset... The microphone stalk is a little too rigid, but once you bend it you're done messing with it. There are no custom audio settings or bluetooth connections, but that's also means less buttons to mess around and no batteries needed and no RF interference. PROs: - Comfortable to wear for hours at a time - No RF interference - Includes Xbox One Chat Adapter - All controls at your "thumb-tip" with the Xbox One Adapter - No batteries or additional wiring required CONs: - Mic stalk is a little too rigid - Basic headset (not 5.1 or 7.1 as some may like) - No custom audio settings - No bluetooth Overall, I am VERY pleased with this purchase! This headset is better than my Tritton Xbox 360 and Turtle Beach Ear Force Delta headsets. Four and a half stars!

These were everything I was asking for and more. Very pleased with the quality and the visual design. My only complaint and why I ranked it so low, is that they are very TIGHT on my head. They squeeze against my ear and cause me to have headaches after a long time of playing. I'm hoping this will work itself out the more I used them. Just be aware, they are definitely designed for a smaller slender head.

Update: A more detailed but not too in-depth review below. Sound Quality: I've played COD Ghost and NBA Live 14 with these and the sound quality is excellent. On NBA Live, from the sounds of the bouncing ball, the crowd in the arena, announcers, it's all detailed. For COD Ghost, as I mentioned in my unboxing video below, you can hear the footsteps well, the raindrops in one of the maps, explosions, etc. It doesn't sound too bass heavy either which some of you might prefer. For me, there's enough bass in it that it isn't overpowering. The included amplifier for use with 360 and PC does have a bass boost feature though if you need a little bit more boom with your sound. Build/Comfort Quality. The headset is light which is good for wearing them for extended periods of time. I've owned several headsets like the Razer Kraken Pro which is advertised as the lightest and most comfortable headsets available and I must say, these match the Kraken Pro's in terms of comfort and if anything, they feel more comfortable for me. I like the mesh ear cushions and have always preferred them over leather. I do agree with some reviewers saying the plastic feels cheap. I have the MW3 Ear Force Delta's and those don't feel as much different in terms of the plastic material they use. The wire on the headphones would be a concern for some since it's built on them so if you accidentally break the wires, your headsets are done. Luckily for me, I take care of my toys and I don't foresee myself breaking it. Value: I think at the $150 price point, the fact that you can use it for PC, 360, and also, I've used it for my PS4, these are an excellent choice for someone looking for a good pair that isn't too expensive. Notes: I've had the sound go out a couple of times and the first time, I power cycled my Xbox One and that fixed it. The other time, I couldn't get the chat or game sound to work and my X1 friend just told me to unplug the chat adapter, and that fixed the issue. Also, sometimes you might accidentally have the sound focused all on game so don't freak out if you're wondering why the chat isn't working. Since you can mix the chat/game volume, make sure to push one of those buttons to see if one is not overpowering the other. Overall: I changed my score from 5 stars to 4 because of the Mic Monitor issue and also, I've heard of people complaining about a loud crackling sound that comes and goes. I haven't experience this yet but hopefully, this will be something that can be fixed through a system update. Same as in the Mic Monitor feature. I have an unboxing video which I'll provide the link below. I give this a 5 star because it's simple to use with the Xbox One. Just plug the headset jack into the chat adapter that comes with these headsets and you'll get both game sound and chat coming through your headset without having to connect the headset to your console. In addition to the low low volume in the headset, audio frequently cuts out. I think mine is faulty, but I am seeing this come up constantly in reviews. Also, you can't hear yourself so you just feel weird chatting, thinking you are talking way too loud. The volume of the "surround" is so low that I can hear my surround sound through the background at only 20 (of 100 volume level). I have been a fan of Turtle beach, and had a much cheaper headset for PS3 that was phenomenal. Skip this one, they tried to sell it because of the branding, which is pretty much worthless.

I own two sets of X12s, and being the cheapest headsets that Turtle Beach offers, they sound fantastic. These do not. They are cheaply made, the audio crackles, have no good sound quality, and chat is terrible. I do not think the headsets are to blame 100%, but the Xbox One audio adapter affects the sound so much. It severely limits the maximum volume, and chat and audio are hard to balance. I won't be buying any Xbox One headsets anytime soon. And for the record, these do not sound good at all hooked up to the 360, and compatibility with both systems is why I bought them. I returned the two sets I preordered because they are so not worth the money ($300!). They do look pretty nice, but also nowhere near as cool as the picture. What a shame =(

I've had these headphones for about two weeks now, and I've been pleased with the quality, fit, and sound. A bit tight at first, the headphones now have a great fit, with no discomfort even after several hours of use. The aesthetics of the headphones fit well with other Titanfall themed accessories, such as the Titanfall controller. The sound quality is what I would expect from the nicer Turtle Beach headsets. I've had three over the past few years, and these have been the best. Despite being a stereo headset, I've noticed a greater distinction in sound direction while playing games like Titanfall or Battlefield 4 (although not as good as true surround sound). I have experienced an occassional dropping of sound (once or twice), and some crackling noises while navigating menus in game, but these experiences are limited to the Xbox One. After several hours of use on a PC, using the included adapter (one of the main selling points for me), as well as other devices (iPad, Wii U Gamepad) I've yet to experience any issues with bad or dropped sound. Given this experience, I believe the issue lies with the Xbox One Audio Adapter that is included, rather than the headset itself. The issues I've experienced, however, have been rare enough that they haven't give me pause in using the headphones. The only negative was that my headset arrived without the mic foam. Turtle Beach was quick to resolve, first via a response on Twitter directing me to their support page, and second through direct email communication with a customer service rep. The whole process, from initial contact to receiving the replacement foam, took around four days.

This just arrived in the mail today and it's a shame how much Turtle Beach is trying to cash in on Titanfall. They put together the absolute cheapest iteration of any Turtle Beach headset to date (these have less features than the x12 that are 59.99) 1. The wire that goes from the headphones to the controller for chat is not replaceable. Once this .99 cent cord breaks (which it will) you cannot replace this very cheap wire. Alternatively, if you are not chatting you still have to deal with this wire hanging from your ear. 2. The plastic for the headphones and mic is noticeably cheaper than products in the past. I'm a happy owner of 4 previous versions of Turtle Beach headsets that I use for my gaming PCs, PS3, XBOX 360, Wii, WiiU and an X42 currently hooked up to an XBOX One. All are wonderful products I would recommend. However, after seeing the route the company has taken with this Titanfall headset I doubt I will be ordering anything else in the future. It's a shame when a good company tries to cash in like this with a cheap product.

Lovely upgrade to my x12s. Only headset I could find that works with both Xbox One AND PC. Simulated surround sound by default but I'm using it with a DSS and the sound is gorgeous. There is also detachable mic so can be used as just headphones and can also work with Xbox 360 if needed. Lastly its worth noting that the speakers used in this are the same as the top of the range turtle beach console headsets (XO7s I believe?) which are £40 more expensive. A tad expensive for just a headset I suppose but worth it for the quality. Would Recommend. PS: there are multiple complaints about the headset being tight. Ignore these as it is a little to begin with but after a week or so they are absolutely fine. They are also adjustable so will fit any size head.

Es un exelente producto llego antes de tiempo y en exelentes condiciones la calidad de sonido es siemplemente genial ya sea la del juego o la del chat lo unico es que no es totalmente blanca en realidad es de color gris la use actualmente en pc y xbox 360 y funcionando al 100%

Premetto che possedevo già cuffie Turtle Beach per il gaming e mi sono sempre trovato bene, quindi sono andato con confidenza ad acquistare questo modello. Adoro entrambi i Titanfall, e ricordo che queste cuffie costavano sempre sui 70 euro nei vari negozi. Ora, dopo più di un anno, sono fiero di averle comprate e di poterle pagare quasi la metà. Anche in questo caso il mio utilizzo è legato al solo gaming, e la qualità dell'audio è qualcosa di fenomenale, potente, nitida e molto amplificata. Ho più volte dovuto abbassare il volume perché sembrava di essere dentro il gioco. La cuffia è molto rigida e fa aderire entrambi i pods alle orecchie in modo preciso e quasi isolante, tant'è che i rumori esterni si riducono moltissimo anche indossandole senza attaccarle. Altra nota positiva? I pods si possono girare e tenere le cuffie sulle spalle in modo comodo.
