My old iPhone 6S stopped charging completely due to an old, dirty charging port. The kit includes the replacement dock connector component, a mini philips head screwdriver, and a mini pentalobe screwdriver. I watched a YouTube video on the steps to remove and replace the dock connector and followed along. The whole process to a little less than a hour, but I now have a functioning phone again. I recommend buying an iPhone repair kit, which will include a suction cup to help remove the screen, along with other tools like the spudger and tweezers to help remove and place the small parts and screws in place. Kits usually include screwdrivers with magnetic tips, which are super helpful when dealing with small screws like this.

Regarding the product, it works great. Charger and Microphone work great. I changed this part because I couldn't charge my phone anymore and people are telling me that they can hear me a lot better. So I guess it was a cool bonus. Regarding the mounting: I used a video on youtube to explain me how to do the change. It took me about 2 hours. The screwdrivers are OK, but I ended up using the ones I got from changing the battery. I recommend to buy a battery kit with good tools as they are better to remove the screen. Careful: There are lots of microscopic screws in the phone that you will have to remove, they are all slightly different and it is very hard to even see the difference between them. Use a model (I drew one quickly on a piece of paper) to remember where you get each screw so that you can put them back in the same place. You have to remove most of the components inside the phone to change this part. I am not a tech genius, so you don't need any specific skills to do this. Except being able to handle microscopic screws and reproduce what you see on a youtube video.

I had my iPhone 6S with me when doing yard work over a year ago. Problem was I had it in my pocket with the charger socket end up. Result? The ear bud jack, charger socket, microphones, and speaker outlets all got packed with dust and debris. I was able to clean the ear bud jack, charging socket and speaker outlet good enough to restore their functionality, but the microphones were never the same. I decided to try to replace the microphones before plopping down serious money for a new iPhone. Enter this part. Installation is not difficult, but it is a bit fiddly. Take your time. Watch a YouTube video or two to understand the task. Two things that were not optimum, though. First, the microphone next to the ear bud jack requires a plastic extender piece. No worries, you can use the old one by just separating it from the old mic. The picture on the Amazon webpage even shows that there is a new adhesive strip on the new part. Problem was, there was no adhesive strip. I ended up using some double-sided tape I had in my drawer. Not a deal breaker, but an extra, fiddly step. Second, the antenna on the new part is longer than the original. Again, not a deal breaker, but you need to spend some time locating a suitable cavity in which to neatly tuck the extra antenna length. Those two things done, the rest of the repair was straightforward and the phone works like new.

It’s a pain to install because of all the little screws in an iPhone but it works great after it’s in and the price was good I also replaced the battery while I was in it with a 3000 mah I will say give it a try or take it to a shop and let them do it. I replaced it because the phone stopped charging it started out giving problems like when it was charging it would stop and start charging if you moved the phone around and the phone would sometimes give a warning that the charger was not supported and I let it go on until it just stopped charging at all. lol

It is a perfect fit and seems to be working just fine. The only complaint I have is the lack of instructions or a magnetic template to assist in the placement of the screws [of which there are a lot] when replacing this item. I did look at one video but it was challenging to revisit the video every 5 minutes as one went through this exercise. I was very grateful that it worked when I was done!

This unit had a short in it which caused my phone to not turn back on. I then re-installed the previous one and then the phone was able to turn back on like it should. However, I lost my back light on my display making the phone impossible to use. I took it to ubreakifix and they said the short in the charging port thing likely fried a circuit on the main board causing the back light not to work. Now I'm out $150 to replace my phone. How frustrating. I've done numerous repairs to iphones in the past.

Je l’ai monté pour remplacer celui d’origine qui fatiguait, et depuis l’iPhone recharge normalement, comme au premier jour. Installation correcte, pièces propres, et bon rapport qualité-prix. Pour redonner vie à un ancien iPhone, c’est exactement ce qu’il faut.

Do not attempt to replace one of these unless you are very comfortable with deconstructing and reconstructing an iPhone. You need to be able to strip down a lot of it to replace this. That said, this is perfect replacement for the iphone we had and works exceptionally well. I'm fairly competent and this took about 20 minutes to replace. Would buy again if needed to.
