Perfect for new ceiling fan and light install
Attached directly to one of the truss beams for a new ceiling fan with light install. It was quite the project given the unbearable and cramped conditions in my attic. Have vaulted ceilings (though not an overly severe angle) and with the excess of installed insulation, generally inconvenient location, very limited head room, and wider than ideal distance between truss beams (24 inch centers), I wasn't confident with using a T-Brace--particularly since many of the 'easy-install' T-Brace's specifically state they are not to be used on trusses. And truss specific T-Braces generally required better access than I really could muster without tearing up large portions of the ceiling drywall . So installing directly on the beam seemed like the better option, though It did require I go a few inches from true center of the room--but within 4-6 inches of center, so not a big deal to me. Running new romex to the location of the install was exceedingly difficult, as was finding a power source (these late 80s built homes just don't seem to have their electrical wiring thought out well--much bigger chore than I imagined at the outset). And it really turned out the easiest part of the exercise was installing this fixture box and mounting the ceiling fan. Not a ton of room in the box for the wires, but sufficient. So as long as your beam location is acceptable for where you want to hang your fan/light fixture, highly recommended solution--and definitely glad I used it instead of the T-Brace. Rock solid for the 54" Hampton Bay ceiling fan and light fixture I installed.

Strong, made in US. Easy install
Raco makes good quality products. Ideal for installation on my exposed beams patio. I ordered two boxes and, like others stated, one was missing a lag screw but discovered it was at thw bottom of the shipping box.

Great product,,,,,,, but
Great product, but have purchased three now and screws were all missing from two of them. The tape which holds the screws in place was there, but no screws. Tape was loose from box and screws must have fallen through a hole in the shipping box. No big deal, I found other screws, but more tape of better tape should be applied. I still give it five stars because itโs a great, easy, convenient and strong way to hang a ceiling fan.

Hubbell ceiling fan/fixture box
Bought for a ceiling fan install. It is perfect for an anything with some weight and movement while in use. It mounts by straddling your ceiling joist. It includes screws and easy to follow instructions on how to mount it. This feels solid as a rock and will easily support even a large fan. A little more costly but a much more secure box, worth it for me.

Screw
My order arrived today, and when I opened it, I noticed that one box is missing a screw. How can I get a replacement box with the screws? Thank so much

Missing screws
None of the screws were on the saddle box or in the packaging. Waste of time and money
