"Sun and her flowers" is a collection of powerful poetry about grief, self abandonment, honoring one’s roots, love and empowering oneself. The author has related the five chapters of the book to the title in an alluring manner. She relates her poetry to the flowers we plant in our garden, like those delicate flora we too must wilt, fall, root and rise in order to bloom. The recipe of life is gracefully related to the content and titles of the chapters. My suggestion would be to read Rupi’s books slowly and absorb the emotional depth of her poems. Along with the writings, do not forget to appreciate her simple illustrations which are exquisitely linked to the essence of her poetry. I highly recommend this poetry book to everyone and specially to the ones who want to start reading poetry. The poems are simple sentences broken up with spaces making it an easy read. Her writings are so relatable and strong especially for Indians and Indian nationals who have moved to other countries.
