Unbelievably good value !!
Bought this so that I can look behind wallboard by drilling a small hole, rather than a large one. It's just arrived, so I can't comment on its durability. If it does prove to be unreliable, I'll update this review. That said - I paid a shade over $12 for this (it was on a "flash sale" and it is unbelievably good value. Prior to its arrival, I installed (from the Google Play store) the Android app CameraFi on my phone (rooted Nexus 6, running Android "nougat" v7.1.1). Note that the CameraFi Play store page said that the app didn't work with Nougat, but I took a chance. For me, at least, it works perfectly. When the endoscope arrived, I plugged it into my phone. Immediately, the LEDs turned on. Their brightness can be easily adjusted using the little turn-wheel on the cable. Within a second or two, my phone recognized that a USB device had been plugged in, and CameraFi automatically opened, asking me if I wanted to use CameraFi every time this device was plugged in. I said yes. Within a couple more seconds, the image appeared on my phone. When you're using it to look at an object that is well-defined (say, text on a page) the image is very sharp, and it remains sharp as you move the camera closer - I can move it to within about 3 cm, and it's still very sharp. For less well-defined subjects, the image isn't always so sharp, I think because it's trying to auto-focus, and is having a hard time deciding what to focus on. Example - I tried to look inside my ear (yuck) and it was a bit blurred. Tried looking inside a slightly-opened drawer (to see how it'd do in a dark space) - slid it all the way to the back (where it was dark), and the images were excellent. It comes with a separate short USB adapter cable, in case you want to plug it into a "regular" USB port (say, on a laptop). It also includes 3 attachments. (1) Screw-on side-view mirror - it screws on, very securely, to a thread that's at the front of the camera. (2) A hook & (3) a magnet, both of which are on ~2 inch long metal stems. At the other end of the stem there is a small "tip" that's bent at right angles to the rest of the stem. You slip the tip into a small hole at the "back end" of the camera, then slide a plastic ring on, to keep the stem securely on the camera. However, I suspect that it might be easy, when you're poking the camera in a dark confined space, to get the plastic ring caught on an edge, and if it slid loose then the metal part would probably fall off. So, if I ever use the hook or the magnet, I think I'll secure the plastic ring clip with a bit of tape. All in all, I am VERY impressed, especially at this price point.

Good deal for the price.
I was NOT given a free product, so this is a truly unbiased opinion. It does what it says, and works well with my Samsung SIII phone, which is pretty old by today's standards. I tried the software that was linked on the instruction sheet (called USBCamera2.0) and it works ok, but the capture button on the camera does not work with this software. Also tried the CameraFi app, which works much better and the capture button on the cord works, but puts a watermark on all photos. Also tried MScopes for USB Camera, which had a lot of nice features, some of which you have to pay for, but again the capture button on the camera doesn't work. Anyway, this isn't a software review...The camera and cord seems pretty well built. The LEDs get bright, or you can dim them. The photos are not super top quality, and you do have to hold pretty still to get a nice clear shot. Like cell phone cameras from 10 years ago. The included mirror is not installed perfectly in the holder, so you get some of the edge with each photo. ***There is a protective film covering the mirror, so you have to remove this first to get decent photos.*** All in all, for the price I am happy with the device and use it for vehicle inspections and getting photographs of hard to reach places.

Very useful and fun tool and at a good price.
It works as described. Kind of fun to play with as well as being a useful tool. Everyone should have something like this around the house or in their tool box. No telling when your going to drop something that rolls under furniture, falls down into a small space, down a drain or other hard to reach place. You know it is going to happen, so be prepared with one of these. The company responded very quickly to a question about attaching the hook to the camera. They have been very helpful. They are coming out with a model with the camera mounted on a stiff wire that will hold whatever shape you desire. I'll be ordering one of those too. Also plan to get a couple of these as gifts for my son and for a friend. I think my 8 year old grandson will have fun playing with this. Can't wait to see what he dreams up to do with it.

It is like pushing a string to get into something
A software disk to use on my computer was missing. The package appears to have been open. The app to download on my android phone did not work, receive an error message every time I tried it. I downloaded another app, and that works. The 3 meter or 9 foot wire is way too long. It is not stiff, it's a limp cord that coils up as it was packed into the box. It doesn’t uncoil, so dropping the camera down a tight spot is impossible because the cord coils around. You are not able to control what the camera is looking at because it coiled up. It is like pushing a string to get into something. I tried looking down a well pipe, I could not get it to go straight down the pipe. After I zip tied it to a long stick, I got it to go straight. Once it was down that dark pipe, it did not have enough light to see anything clearly. When you watch all the other review videos, they show the camera light is bright, and it show you can see what the camera is looking at. These demos were done with natural lighting around them, It was not a true test of what the camera can see in pitch darkness. I returned the item, its useless.
