Hask Charcoal Clarifying Shampoo, 12 Ounce

Not sure exactly when or how I ran across this Shampoo... I want to say I was smelling every bottle in Walgreens one day and just wondered but a "Charcoal" shampoo would smell like or if it really worked to get your hair CLEAN. I have a MIXED GRADE of hair (African American & Caucasian) and even though I wear it short, it's thick and there's alot of it. I try not to weight it down with heavy oils and greases, but this type of hair requires a certain amount of that to function, and I do not wash my hair daily. Whenever I would wash my hair, it seemed like it was still never really clean and the build up from product or even just my dry/oily scalp would still be VISIBLE in my hair after several shampoos/conditioning and even blowing it dry. So when I ran across this and smelled it.... I immediately took it home to try because it smelled sooo good to me. It reminded me of the soap & shampoo they provide at Westin Hotel in Buckhead... just very clean and calming. I only had to shampoo my hair ONCE and was sooo clean it literally was squeaking! I'm not just saying that.. when I rubbed my hair .. it literally made a noise! Mind you, before I tried this... I was using Apple Cider Vinegar on my hair and that was not working and even though the smell would go away, it was just not a good process and seemed messy to me. The Hask Charcoal Shampoo, Conditioner AND DRY Shampoo ARE THE BEST if you want CLEAN hair that LOOKS & SMELLS CLEAN! I started buying it 2 bottles at a time and of course as soon as I fell in love with it, they stopped selling it a Walgreens! They sell everything else HASK makes, but NOT the Charcoal Shampoo or Conditioner. So I found it online at ULTA for about $5.99 and I order at least 5 bottles at a time.... because I not only use it to wash my hair, my Husband and I both use it as Shower Soap and he runs through it like water!!! It just makes my bathroom smell so good and it puts me in a much better mood than smelling Vinegar does :) This stuff really is the best kept secret, but I tell everybody about it and maybe that's why it's never on the shelf at Walgreens!!! lol If you shop inside ULTA, their supply is limited as well.. seems like I always get the last 2 bottles, but you can order lots of it online instead! I pray HASK does not stop making it altogether. I 100% recommend it for all types of African American hair and any other hair type as well! Don't Sleep on this! TRY IT!!!! This is the 1st online product review I've ever done, and I try and buy a lot of products (that usually do not work) but this one was impressive and I had to finally take the time to put it in words! (not getting paid or anything... the makers do not even know I exist!)

This is actually one of the few reviews I've ever placed on Amazon because I'm that excited about this shampoo. Everytime I go to the store, I'm always looking for a new shampoo brand. The one that will give me full, healthy hair with no oil or stickiness. The issue is I have done hair that gets oily very quickly, but it's also long so if I was it everyday the ends dry out and it seems to get more oily. So I need a solid shampoo that will last a day between washes that kills oil but is non drying. Not an easy ask. This is the closest to perfection I've found in a long time. My hair actually lasts the whole day without lankness or the random oily cowlicks I get (I know, my hair is very annoying). When I switch back to the other shampoos in my shower, the issues return, but this consistently does a good job. I can also use it multiple washes in a row without any apparent issues like dryness or sticky build up. My only caveat is that I don't know if the greatness comes from this specific product or if any charcoal product will do. It may be the charcoal itself in which case other products might work. But I love this shampoo and I'm about the reorder, so I strongly suggest it for folks with oily hair!

Hask, as a brand, is the only shampoo/ conditioner that I use. When I needed to change it up with shampoos (every few months my hair looks drab,so I kept searching for a good shampoo and conditioner) I was shocked by this Purifying shampoo and conditioner. My thick long hair BOUNCED!! and I was almost giddy by the results- The Hask charcoal purifying shampoo worked SO WELL I saw the difference the first day, and I wasn’t alone!! I received compliments on my hair all day!! Fresh citrus and charcoal was like a reset button for my hair. I was amazed! It helped my “winter scalp” when it gets dry and flakes. I am a convert, I have used different Hask products and it’s absolutely top quality, especially the Kalahari melon oil for the ends of my hair! They also made me a believer when it comes to phthalate and paraben free products, also sulfates as I have oily thick hair. I truly think it makes a difference I could see immediately. (As an aside, I bought a small tub of phthalate and paraben free shampoo that had charcoal and some other ingredients,just for this problem of winter scalp, from a trendy little upstart for $50; it didn’t work! ) The $6 Hask charcoal purifying shampoo did!

So my hair gets a lot of build up and takes forever to dry because of it. So my hair lady told me to do a clarifying shampoo every now and then to get rid of all that build up, so I bought this. OH MY GOODNESS this stuff is awesome my hair is so soft and lightweight now. And the bits of charcoal it has in it totally wash out. I’m so happy I bought this

I got this to replace Lush shampoos and that was a mistake. I liked the ingredients and smell. I was excited to use but after, my hair looked like crap. It looked dried out and like a used broom, it felt dry, and it didn't shape as well when I tried to style. I switched to another shampoo and that solved the problem. This is my guest bathroom for guests, is priced well, but it just didn't work for me.

I love the product overall. My favorite shampoo. But the bottle came open in the package and had spilled all over :(

I like this product, my hair and scalp feel clean and not weighted down by several applications of hair products. I am having my roots done in 2 days and it is good IMO to clear the hair shaft of other build up. The product does not cause irritation at all and kept my hair cleaner, longer.

I just ordered more of what I have been using and I'm happy with this product as it does what it is supposed to all the time; I use it a couple times a week, thank you! My hair is oily so I don't need a lot of moisture for that makes it worse but when I'm done using this Shampoo; it's squeaky clean and I love it!!!

Tbh I've only used this shampoo once but I feel like it does the job so I'm giving it 5 stars. My hair felt clean after the wash, but ofcourse like any clarifying shampoo, this dries out your hair so I would recommend you to deep condition with this wash. For those of you wondering about the smell, when I opened the bottle it smelt more citrusy than anything but when I apply it on my hair it smells like cinnamon idk why HAHAHH could be just me. Overall it's a clarifying shampoo that does the job well and I would definitely purchase this again :)

Cleanses my oily scalp gently. Makes my hair silky and soft, with a wonderful citrus smell. Would definitely buy again!

Angenehmer Geruch. Reinigt echt sehr gut wenn man “built up” hat und macht was es verspricht. Jedoch muss man wissen das man es nur einmal pro Woche benutzten sollte weil es sonst austrocknen könnte.
