Works pefetly well. It takes time to get your knives right but that's the nature of the job I'm afraid.

Great beginner stone, 6000grit is pretty useless
I pulled the trigger on this one after reading a lot of good reviews and overall i am happy with it. I have used it like 5-6times and the 1000grit side works well. However, i find the white side (6000 grot) to be too soft that the blade actually can dig into it. Moreover, i was unable to make any decent use of the white side except to get a nice polish. You will need a decent 3000grit stone to get something razor sharp or like me, u can use the bottom of a ceramic cup to finish off the edge

Probably one or the best entry level whetstones
Ok, so I've been looking at getting one of these bad boys for months now. I wasn't scared of difficulty in using it, just wanted to make sure I got the correct one to start with. I've spent days (worth of hours) online checking reviews, YouTube videos and blogs, as there are lot of "beginner" options but also many videos saying "get this brand bro, worth investment" but honestly that one would have been more than my knives. I finally decided on Sharp Pebble for a few reasons. Price wise it's not a bad deal at all. I believe you should get a decent quality product, even if you have cheap knives. It comes with a little support in case you are new to this and don't know the angle you should be sharpening at. The Grit sides are possibly perfect for a beginner. After countless videos online I found 1000 to be the upper limit of "coarse" and 6000 to be a good middle options for sharpening. Unless your knives are completely blunt in which case you will need something like a 400, then a 1500-ish then a 6k, this is perfect for the occasional 2-3 week (even 4) sharpening. You can do a few quick slides on the 6k side every week on the most used knives (depending on usage) and once every 2-4 weeks give it a full run on both sides. Definitely recommend watching multiple videos from multiple channels on how to use these and sharpen your knives. Everyone has something slightly different to say/add that may be more relevant for your case, so absorb and use your head. Overall I'm incredibly happy with this product and will forever be the way I sharpen my knives.
