This item is comfortable as a couch or a bed. It came well packaged. All peices were in beautiful shape. It was easy enough to put together, but the hex key provided might have had a wobble end to more easily tightened the bolts in the tight area. This is a very substantial futon with a nice big leather cushion. It is very comfortable and looks great. It slides easily into an upright or flat position with only one person moving it. It took me about 3 hours to assemble it by myself (two people would be able to assemble it MUCH faster.) It came with one of those little allen wrenches, and I would recommend a ratcheting screwdriver with a matching allen head to speed assembly dramatically. I think the directions could have been clearer. It took me awhile to figure out how to assemble the bottom slats and to see how they fit over the frame, but then I am not the best at these things. I would definitely recommend this futon. It came in three boxes and all arrived together in the time expected.

Warning: Assembly is not recommended to any Elderly or Overweight person with Beer Belly like me. Unless you want to have back pain and muscles pain in the morning which I did. Had to ask my neighbor's kid to help me, gave him $20 as good gesture. The assembly Instructions are clear to understand but putting it together requires real physical effort. Took me total of 5 hrs to built slowly. This is a Great Futon set, Frame is solid strong hard wood and may last for decades.The Futon mattress doesn't seem to be 8 inches, its more of 6 inches, but its Super firm and comfy better than my bed mattress.

I've had this futon for around 10 months, and the lack of overall build quality really started to show within the last few months.The frame itself is prone to coming apart along the arm rest, and the horizontal bar of which must be reattached frequently.The futon itself is pretty comfortable, if you like hard sitting/laying surfaces.I would probably not recommend this futon to anyone I know personally, unfortunately

Very substantial product. Looks good and shipped quickly. Installation takes a couple of hours. Best to read through the instructions first because there are two sets--one for the frame and another for the seat and back. Laying out the parts for each set of plans helps keep things organized. A second pair of hands is also a big help because of the length.

Well made and has good instruction to put it together. The mattress has just the right firmness for sitting. I had to purchase a mattress pad to make it softer for sleeping. Also, it is impossible for one person to fold it back into sitting position. If you're planning to use it as a sofa at day and as a bed at night, you may want to look for different style.

It arrived in perfect condition. A lot of pieces to assemble but it is a wonderful piece of furniture. We were impressed with the quality of the wood. The color was just wonderful also. The only Cons is lack of instruction on how to put the back on the front together. It would be great to have written instructions beside the pictures. Would buy it again.

All parts were included, instructions were clear, and assembly was relatively easy for two adults. The product itself is quite attractive, and the mattress is sturdy and looks really nice. We bought this for a loft at our cabin, and it seems to be perfect for that purpose!
