Minwax products are always great products. My go to for any of my projects. Easie of use and quality of results are hard to beat.

This stuff was a great approach to refinishing an old pine desk. The wipe-on-off method saved any sanding, which would've scarred this ancient soft wood.

After doing some research for finish removers, I decided to give this a try, and I was pretty pleased with the results. It did take lots of elbow grease, but I was using it for a pretty large job. It did OK for the job, but it would really excel at small projects. My project was stained and finished (I'm guessing with lacquer, but I can't be sure), and this product immediately softened the finish so I could scrub it off with steel wool. It did remove a fair amount of the stain as well, but not all of it.

Minwax Furniture Refinisher Easy to use and very effective if you are removing just the original finish (stain). Varathane requires sanding as the finish is harder to penetrate. My second time using the product. Deborah Hynes

This is a great product for refinishing and restoring antique furniture. It works as described. Do follow the safety precautions (especially about working in a well-ventilated space). I am amazed that Canadian hardware stores such as Home Depot and Rona don't have it in stock. And I'm really annoyed with Home Depot who have completely stopped selling any Minwax products - I've been using these for decades, and they are very good. Fortunately I still had some Minwax furniture polish on my shelf, and this was a nice way to bring a new shine back to the furniture after I had used the refinisher. Yay Minwax! Boo to short-sighted Canadian retailers!
