I read a couple of reviews that said these stones are radioactive. Is this true?

I dont think so but I also just cut off any extra fingers I grow with my newly sharpened chefs knife

Is For Japanese Knives ?

No, all knives. Get it, it is a awesome investment. Great for your knives. Have a wonderful day

Do most people experience success with the 6,000 grit side?

I've had good success with the King 1000/6000 sharpening stone. The 6000 grit side is for honing the blade after sharpening with the 1000 side. Honing puts a polished and strong edge on the sharpened blade. The grit is so fine it seems like you're doing nothing, but give it 100 strokes and you'll see the difference it makes. Use plenty of water on the surface.
