Its Pelle Soeeborg, What Else Do You Need to Say !?!?
If you're not aware of this guy's work, boy do you have a pleasant surprise ahead! This book however is not intended to showcase Pelle's work (though it does that too very well), but rather it is a series of "simple" / "short" projects that even the average model railroader of modest skills can follow and accomplish to improve various elements of his/her model railroad. The beauty of most of the stuff that Pelle does is that its generally common-sense stuff. Except that he thought of it and you didn't, and that's why he's the author and you're just wishing you were! :-) I love seeing Pelle's work. He has a number of other books available (do a search for him either here on Amazon, or else on Google to dig up more). He has a very interesting style along the lines of "less is more", and yet his scenes are spectacularly "realistic" even for all their supposed "simplicity". What he's not telling you is that you have to pick the *right* "less" to include, to pull it off. Pelle's got the eye and the talent for seeing and simplifying to basic essential ingredients, and he's got the awareness and the patient ability to explain how he does it in terms that the rest of us mere mortals can understand (and pretend we can accomplish :-) Seriously though, kidding aside. This is a good book for any model railroader looking for some rainy-day projects. Well worth the money.

he tells you how he weathers but some of it I would have done differently.
Very well done. A little short. Would like to see more cars but it's not bad.

How to "Dirty up" a shiny surface
This book is very well written and has lots of pictures to follow along with the written details. If you're an experienced modeler (in weathering with an airbrush) you can probably complete some of the tasks shown in the book within a day. "Done in a Day" is a misnomer, the author actually tells you that a lot of the projects will take longer than a day to complete. However with that said, this book offers a lot of information and is a good reference book. The projects detailed in this book will excite your creative thoughts and aid you in achieving the-next-level when it comes to detailing and weathering items for your railroad.

Great book of easy projects for any modeler
Pellets always writes books and articles that allow the common modeler feel he can achieve great results like his. Clear and concise and straightforward. A true treat to read and very helpful. His suggestions translate well to the workshop. Keep the books coming Pelle!

Not much use for steam era
The books ok, would have like to have seen some steam engine detailing, but in typical kalmbach fashion, i suppose i have to buy a different book for that. also, not much coal hopper detailing, if any.If you model current era diesel, then this book is for you.

Another corker frae Pelle
This is another excellent book form this Danish Modeler.Yes its using American examples but its techniques are applicable to any prototype. The author writes in an easy to follow and clear way - its obvious that his professional background as a graphic designer has influenced both his modeling and his writing. To anyone with a need for some easily digested ideas on scenic modeling, this is highly recomended...

Model railroaders' will be fascinated - and weep a little
Pelle makes it look so easy. It isn't, of course, but this book offers a useful range of projects and will certainly get you on your way using a number of techniques.
