4.4 stars - I liked it!
The product came as described. Some reviews mentioned the gel crumbling off of the skeleton, we did not have that problem. My kids (2 and 6) had fun removing the skeleton from the gel, but lost interest quickly after. My daughter (6) said it was gross, just the idea of dissecting an animal and seeing the bones and organs inside. I thought it was cool, haha. My complaint is the lack of internal organs. It came with 6, but was lacking in some big ones (like the heart and brain). The information booklet had pretty good information, it was slightly too scientific for my 6 year old (and obviously my 2 year old). Iโll hold onto the kit and use it again next year. If the refill packs donโt work, I could easily use jello. Iโd recommend this product to any young elementary grade kid who isnโt grossed out by dissection. :)

Great Learning experience
This product is GREAT for learning. We used it for my sonโs homeschooling dissection instead of a real fish since heโs only 8 years old and his teacher thought it was a really good idea. It has a pamphlet thatโs very informative of the organs and bones as well.

5yr old son LOVES THIS
Got it for my son for his 5th birthday. He loves my anatomy figure with removable organs so I thought this would be great for him since he also has a fascination with piranhas. He loves it. He tore right into it and was in awe that the "goo" looked like a fossil as well. He wanted to make it again very shortly after the first time. We have yet to set another mold but he has assured me after a couple hours of playing with it and then on and off the rest of the day that he "NEEDS" the salamander and the frog too!

Fun but...
Not exactly what I expected. The gel exterior of the fish is like jello. It crumbles easily and doesn't retain its shape at all. At one point the directions said to slice and peel back the fake skin.... that's not going to happen! The jello stuff was crumbling inside the package before we could even figure out how to get him out. Also , the diagram showing which part was what was in black-and-white white and difficult to understand. I couldn't figure out how to put it back together either. Over all it was fun but it could have been more informative with a better and in color diagram.
