Do you know what the difference is between the 4840 and this one 4440?

The only difference between the V4440 and V4840 models is the placement of the buttons. They both have all the same features and functions.

Has this model overheated and required shutdown to cool before continuing ?

If you are sealing many bags and quickly, the seal heater needs a couple seconds to cool down a little once in a while. But after 5 - 10 seconds you can start again. I've never had to shut the Foodsaver itself down. And we use it for big amounts. Just did $450 worth of meat that I bought and brought home and divided up to put in the freezer

Hi - does this work with wet or juicy food?

This vacuum sealer does have a moist/dry food settings for optimal sealing that adjusts the seal level for a secure, reliable, air tight seal. With all FoodSaver models, we advise that when vacuum sealing meats and/or fish with lots of juices, it may be helpful to pre-freeze meats and fish for 1 - 2 hours before vacuum packaging in a FoodSaver Bag to ensure the retention of juices and shape, and to help guarantee a good seal. When making individual portions, place the individual pieces on a cookie sheet and place in the freezer for 1 - 2 hours. Remove from the freezer; transfer to a FoodSaver Bag and vacuum-seal.

what size roll and bag is recmended

We recommend that you use 8" rolls and 11" rolls, you can also use various size bags with this FoodSaver.

Voltage Compatibility Issue

I purchased this from a UAE site and brought it to Somalia, expecting it to work in Somalia as both the UAE and Somalia use the same voltage standard (220V). However, upon trying to use it, the machine turned on briefly and then shut off. After some investigation, I discovered that the product is designed for 110-120V, which is incompatible with the 220V standard used here. Unfortunately, I am unable to return the product to the UAE due to logistical reasons. I am requesting assistance to resolve this issue, such as a replacement or a partial payment option for a compatible product. This situation has been quite frustrating, and I hope you can offer a solution to help address this problem.
