Magdaleen van WykThe Complete South African Cookbook

I don't know why this is rated so high for so long
This is a compilation of recipes from 1950-1970 North America. There is the smattering of common French dishes and common restaurant food of that era. Think of pepper steak, chicken chasseur, devilled kidneys, French veal stew, apple sauce, potato salad, tomato salad mould, baked apples, carrot cake. I mean, if that's South African, I may as well stay home. Also included are Cornish pasties, steak and kidney pie, ratatouille, French salad dressing and instructions on canning vegetables. Sorry I bought it since I already had all that from my mother's old cookbooks.
