Gold Star Ballroom Series: Cha Cha

Okay, I agree with an earlier reviewer that this is not first-rate Latin America cha cha. In fact, it isn't even the best of the best for ballroom cha cha. The vocals aren't by the original artists. I agree especially that the last two tracks are not very useful. But it is NOT all synthesized or "electronic."Speaking from the "rarified atmosphere" of ballroom dancing, this album has some fun cha chas that are at least decent for practice. The tempos are appropriate and much of it is kind of seventies-style funky. You may hear some of these tracks played at dances. Ballroom hosts and DJs will find several of these will fill holes in their playlists. Maybe three and a half stars is a better rating?There are several edition of this disc (2003, 2005, 2006). Any resemblance between this music and Cha cha cha is purely fictional. I have been a Cha cha cha dancer my entire life. and find this CD a sham. The artists had the gaul to present this music as cha cha cha. It is obvious that they do not know ballroom, at least, Cha cha cha. I should get my money back.

The cha, cha cd is giving me a list of songs that I can play to practice my dance. I enjoy dancing and this cd gives a list of songthat I can use to practice my dance.

Thought they found some music that fit the beat and recorded it. No more thoughts so don't have any more word.

This CD has songs on it which attempt to imitate Madonna, the Bee Gees, the Doobie Brothers, etc. The problem is that not a single track on it is in what I would call a Cha Cha rhythm. Perhaps in the rarified atmosphere of ballroom dancing dancers might be able to do a Cha Cha step to these tracks, but if you're looking for something that sounds like an update of Perez Prado, Edmundo Ros, or Xavier Cugat, as I was, then you will be grossly disappointed with this title. In addition, the "orchestra" is electronic throughout. I'm glad I didn't pay a lot for this because I'm throwing it out.

I bought it from Barnes and Noble for 4 bucks and this is easily the best bargain you can find for danceable cha chas. For those who complain I say you can hear worse cha chas played in competitions.

I took this to my dance lesson and was told there wasn't a cha cha on it. This was very disappointing.

ラテンダンスを踊ってみえる方はCDを探すのにも一苦労でしょうね。キャリアのある方は専門のCD店で探すでしょうが、初級・中級者の方でチャチャチャを練習したいのなら、このCDで十分です。普段インストルメント曲ばかりで踊っている方で、ボーカルの入った曲が入るとカウントが取れない方をよく見かけますが、このCDはボーカルの入った曲も多いので、そんな方に最適です。また、この値段で１８曲も入っているのがうれしいですね。「ハードロック・カフェー」「ラスト・クリスマス」「オン・ザ・ビーチ」等オリジナルではないので、テンポもダンス用に合わせています。

テンポが２７から３２の曲ばかりが１８曲も入っているのは良いのですが，そのうちラテンはわずかにHistoria de un amor, Guantanamera(Quantanameraと誤記)，Todo,Todo,Todo,の３曲だけ．それも電子楽器の演奏．他は別にChachaで踊る必然も無いものばかりです．がっかり！
