Best compromise between size as brightness I've found
I collect flashlights obsessively, and have all kinds for all uses. One particularly dogged quest I've been on is to find a keychain flashlight that finds the best possible balance between the smallest practical size and variable, high lumen potential, while also having a low-light setting for every day uses you'd expect from a keychain light.I had the similar version of this same style of light that is a third of an inch longer and 1 or 2 tenths of an inch wider. It requires a CR123A battery. Since this one requires the smaller CR2 battery, it is able to be smaller, and pack the same basic punch. My older model is technically brighter, around 210 lumens, but honestly, you can only barely perceive the difference between its 210 and this one's 180 lumens looking at them side-by-side, and it certainly isn't enough to matter. I actually prefer the throw and beam configuration of this light more. For me, the more noticeably smaller size trumps the barely noticeable brightness and inferior overall beam dispersal quality.Additionally, my other light attaches to the keychain by the base, preventing sitting the light on its tailcap if you want to illuminate an entire room evenly. This one attaches on the side just under the base, so it can sit flat on its base, even without removing it from your keychain. The overall quality of this light is very noticeably superior. My other light is thicker overall, but it's body walls are thinner and less sturdy, and the action on the twist toggle to turn it on isn't nearly as tight and smooth as this one. Additionally, this one has a gnarled body, while my original was smooth. I like both the ergonomics and aesthetics better, personally, because of this. Plus, my older model tended to come on if I accidently applied pressure through my pocket that contracted it, causing it to drain the battery in my pocket. I've purposely squeezed this one fairly hard to test it, and it will not accidently activate. My quest is neverending, but for now, I've found the best compromise between size and brightness that I've yet to encounter, and highly recommend this light. On a final note, the first two days I had it, I debated either returning it or rating it only 3 stars, as the light would not consistently turn on when the head was tightened, and required a finger "thump" to activate. It for some reason does not do that anymore, and consistently functions as intended. So if you encounter this problem, give it a few days before you return it or review it.

easily stows away in my bag
compact, bright flashlight. easily stows away in my bag. small enough to grip in your mouth while you work if need be. buyer should buy a few spare cr2 batteries.

The beam is barely useful. I get better and more reliable light from ...
Compact and seems built well. The beam is barely useful. I get better and more reliable light from a button-battery photon key chain light, frankly, at one-fourth the size and far less weight. It's not as if 321 batts are exponentially easier to get in the field than button batts. Would not buy again and would return if I could for a refund.

I really liked this flashlight
I really liked this flashlight...while it lasted. Having never before purchased a high-end flashlight, I was very impressed by how so much light could come from such a small object. I attached it to my keyring to replace a $1 light with dead batteries.Everything was great until I slipped on ice tonight while using the light. Yes, I took a too-large step to cross a puddle, and yes I did hit the ground quite hard, and yes, I am okay. But the light I had hoped would last years is now non-functioning after less than 6 months. The metal casing is fine with no visible damage, but something inside is broken since it no longer works. I tried a new battery, but it did not make the light start working again.I'm not going to ask for a replacement because somewhere the specifications said it would sustain a 1 m drop, and it fell further than that tonight. But be warned that although this flashlight is small and extraordinarily bright, it is probably not durable enough for the average consumer. Because--let's face it--we've all dropped our keys, and unless you plan to carry this light around your neck on the included lanyard, you would probably be better off heading to the local dollar store to purchase a flashlight for your keychain. That's what I'm doing tomorrow.

The best value in a CR2 based light.
Simply one of the best CR2 based lights available. Great runtimes on low, plenty Of power on high, and great build quality... At this price point there's no competition. I carry one if these everywhere I go. Its small enough to fit in a front pocket and never be noticed. The low beam is soft enough to use around the house late at night without blowing my night vision and the high beam is bright enough to illuminate the tree line three hundred feet behind my house.

Four Stars
Almost the same dimensions as the 123 battery only half the battery duration.

Quality and performance.
Everyday in my pocket and super light and bright. If you don't unscrew the switch far enough you can be dealing with a dead battery. You will only need to learn this lesson once I hope. This is a quality build pocket flashlight that has seen alotta water salt and fresh with a night and day difference between the cheap stuff. (The cheap ones work fine for the most part but seem to drain batteries just sitting around.)
