Wide Angle Mobius ActionCam HD Camera (V3 / 820 mAh / Lens C2 / No Memory)

First ...Novotm receives 5-stars for customer service!The initial camera I received was faulty. It stopped recording after 15-20 minutes...and I couldn't get to function again. Novotm's rep responded to my email quickly ...and detailed multiple possible "fixes" for the problem.When none of the fixes worked...they completed an exchange for a new camera w/i a week! Outstanding service!As for the camera...for its size...it's pretty darn incredible.Pros:Overall video clarity and quality is quite good ...in good lighting it's very near that of the more expensive cameras I ownDespite it's small size, the camera 'feels' very sturdy in terms of its constructionMultiple shooting modes and lots of customization optionsEase of operation for recording, playback and file downloadingFirmware is consistently being updated/improvedExcellent support from Novotm..and tons of on-line resourcesCons:It's a bit fussy about which usb cables and sd cards are compatibleNo screen means you need to memorize button sequences & pay attention to the light flash sequences to ensure it's in the mode you want.The heat dispersing metal on the top gets rather hotLow/moderate light performance is only 'OK'The motion-activation feature can only be changed using the Msetup app...it can't be changed on the camera...and, it's either on for both modes...or it's off.All in all a great little hobby/sport action camera.

Bought this after I saw a car in front of me almost hit a young boy on a bicycle who darted out into traffic at a red light that had just turned green. I had a sinking feeling in my stomach that the driver would have been found at fault even though it was clearly the boy's fault. I also had been wanting a dash cam for those unique things you wish you would've caught on camera while driving. I've already caught an accident (fender bender ... everyone was thankfully ok) and several deer, including a close call I had at 10pm going 60mph.I would recommend also purchasing the EDO Tech 5V Mini USB Direct Car Charger (or similar .. I'm not getting any perks for the recommendation) for a permanent installation (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00L3XXRI0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s01). I wired it to the constant 12V power lead behind my car stereo so that the camera is always receiving a charge for the motion-detect feature. The only downside to this is that it may ultimately result in poor performance from the built-in rechargeable battery. It also would produce a constant small draw on the car battery, which could be an issue if your car sits for many days at a time without running. So far, I've let the car sit for 4 or 5 days without being touched, and it has always started right up.The motion detect feature is OK, but it isn't buffered, so if something happens that triggers it, the camera doesn't catch the first 5(??) seconds or so...could be an issue if someone vandalized your car quickly. It probably won't catch that.

This is by far the best dash camera I have owned. That rest have not lived up to their claims or my expectations. They eithrer misrepresent the video quality or the device itself is full of bugs. This one isn't one of them. The Mobius can be mounted discretely so that it isnt obvious to thieves. Software is easily to use but you have to test the settings before finding your optimum profile as this unit does not have a screen or wifi to allow configuring on the fly. Get yourself a supercapacitor if you are going to leave it fixed in your car.

I have 2 of these and I love them. Runs all the time when the car is running. Don't forget to regularly update the firmware. I recommend at least a 32gb micro SD card. Also the "Super Capacitor" accessory is a must if you are only using it in the car, since the internal batttery is never used. I learned this the hard way when the internal battery eventually died (I guess from never being discharged) The quality of the footage is amazing. For the car it is the best insurance in case of an accident. I admit I drive more defensively knowing that everything is being recorded!

This is a great camera for the price. I use it as a discreet dashcam using a super capacitor (got that separately). The only thing is that is eventually, after several months of use, the video will start to tear.

This is an excellent dash cam for the money. Couldn't be happier considering the price. It is very compact and configurable, and the quality is more than decent. I used it with the adhesive mount:  Adhesive Mount with 1/4"-20 thread for Mobius Actioncam By Novotm The metal around the lens starts to discolor from too much sun, but it hasn't affected it in any way. If you park in the sun a lot, I recommend getting a windshield sun shade that will cover it.

It worked for a couple of times and captured really good memories. The only problem is this camera captures videos that it wants and will miss whole bunch of necessary information. I tried to put it in the regular record mode, motion detection mode. Man, this thing skips recording and leaves us guessing why it recorded first 15 minutes and quit completely or start it after that. It is a very unreliable camera. To avoid all those headaches - do not buy it.

Works, and implements all of the advertised features. This should not be even mentioned, but so many of the dashcams sold nowadays overpromise and underdeliver, this was a pleasant surprise. It supports a supercap configuration, and can be configured to shut off immediately when power is disconnected. The video can be flipped at 180 degrees. I would love to see 90/270 degree rotation to allow a vertical install.
