I made sure that the batteries were charged. I really wanted to like/use this product, but have been dissatisfied with its promises vs results: * It has not deterred raccoons, chipmunks or deer from pooping or eating vegetation, even though it has been placed well within the maximum 20 feet limit. * It has activated only about 1 out of 3 times, whenever I purposefully walk in front of it.It does not work as promised and, at the very least, is not reliable.

Piece of junk!
Placed the unit near the base of a big pecan tree that stays full of squirrels and directed the repeller at the base of the tree. Watched for several days to see what was going to happen. Right away and still today, the squirrels climb down the tree trunk and sit on the ground right in front of the unit. Completely unaffected. Checked the unit and the red light tells me it is supposed to be working, but the frequency (if it even emits a frequency) does not bother squirrels or feral cats - in the least. Gross waste of money.

No more dog poops in my yard!!
Very glad there are no more dog poops in my yard since I installed this in my flower bed about 3 weeks ago. I don't know how long it will last, but it must work, as not only no more dog poops, the birds that nested in my front yard's maple tree also moved.

Haven't seen any trace of animal or rodent traffic since I placed this item in my garden. Great buy.

HUGE disappointment
HUGELY disappointing ~ did I just MISS that it said it comes with NO rechargeable batteries already in place?! Very expensive & a cheaply made item. I may just return it :-( HUGE disappointment. Who knows if it even works.

Don't waste your money!
This product did not repell anything down to as tiny as a chipmunk! Don't waste your money! Does not work at all!

Got this for skunks
We got this to repel the skunks from rooting up our yard. Thus far we have not seen (or smelled) any this spring. I think a bit more time may be required to make sure it will keep those critters away. I'm hopeful though.
