LeapFrog Disney: Tangled Learning Game (for LeapPad Tablets and LeapsterGS)

I was nervous to try this with with my preschooler given the stated age range of 4-7, but it is so intuitive and gives so many hints & prompts that a pre-reader can do just fine. LOVE the adaptive learning capability of the software - within an hour of my daughter unscrambling 3 letter words, I was surprised to see it had progressed to providing 4 letter words (with phonetic blends). ;-) It has story elements, a "creativity center" with stamps, paint brushes etc., and mini-modules for games. She's delighted with it for fun, and I'm delighted with its quality.

The excellent shipping was 3 days earlier than expected…but to my dismay this game was not compatible with my LeapPad Ultimate! How disappointing and I paid for shipping…

I bought my daughters LeapPads for Christmas and ordered them each two games to get started with. (We also go My Little Ponies Math, Jake and the Neverland Pirates Math, and Minnie's Bowtique). This is by far a favorite. It provides a lot of activities, and I think they're great learning activities. My girls (3 and 4) have mastered their upper and lower case letters and have moved on to letter sounds and sounding out words, and this really built on that. With the suggested age range, I was worried that it would be too challenging for my 4 year old, but it was perfect. My 3 year old also enjoys it, with a little adult help.

This is an awesome game for beginning readers. My daughter is 5 and we took a road trip so she got to play her Leap Pad. She played this game the whole time + LOVES it. Some of the skills she works on with it have really helped with her reading and she is so engaged. She can be more resistant to workbooks or sitting down to work on reading skills, but she will play this game for hours on end without realizing she is working on those same skills!!!

I absolutely love this game for my daughter. I love how educational all the games are she doesn't even feel like she's learning while she is playing this game. She just knows that her favorite characters are in it and that she is having fun. I love the fact that she has learned so much from this game including spelling yet it is easy enough that I do not need to help her on most of the game.

So...anything with Rapunzel on it my daughter goes nuts for. Hence we started our explorer game collection with Tangled. My 3 yr old loves to "paint" on the "canvas" and use the color wheel to make different colors. She can stamp different items as well. There are many other fun, educational applications to this game that keep her entertained on long car rides. It is highly recommended. The only downfall (and it's minor) is it doesn't come with a small plastic enclosure for the cartridge itself. We have a carrying case but the cartidge gets pulled in and out so many times I fear it getting damaged.

Received this item on time, however when I surprised my daughter with it we discovered it doesn't even work. Tried it in two working Leap Pads that play other games with no problem. Very disappointed. The package was not damaged. When I bought it, it was $9.99 and sold by Amazon. I now see the price is higher. Again, very disappointed to have received an item that doesn't work.

Maybe I'm missing something in this game but it is not what I expected. I bought it for my 3 and 6 yr old girls who are in love with Rapunzel and Flynn. The 6 yr old will play occasionally, and it is nice I can upload her current weeks spelling list into the system thru leapfrog connect and she can work on the words for that week, though it doesn't always work right for some reason and she doesn't play it enough in one week for it to be useful this way. The game ismore like an ebook or what they call Ultraebook as you have to go thru the story first, which my kids keep just turning the page toget thru faster. The 3 yr old has no interest at all except in the art center or whatever it is called to draw freehand. Once you play you can connect to leapfrog connect and download "micromods"...I made the mistake of getting everything they offered with their tokens, however, my youngest doesn't have a leappad, she has a leapster explorer and micromods take up WAY too much space on the leapster! She wasn't able to take photos anymore w/her camera attachement so I had to delete the micromods off her leapster explorer and now it is back to just being the reg. art studio. It is just an "ok" game, nothing I highly recommend unless you are getting a GREAT deal on the game with a sale.

Bought this game for my 6 year old. She loves it. Fast and efficient service, recommend leap pad products for all kids

ce jeu en anglais va permettre aux enfants de s'initier à la langue( ainsi que leurs parents), niveau d'anglais accessible pour les non- bilingues. les activités sont variées, ludiques, le graphisme est très correct.

We got this for our daughter's fifth birthday. She's had it nearly a week and played with it every day. Game-play is age appropriate; she finds it easy to control and enjoys the story mode, the games and the art section. There are lots of fun little things like finding Pasquale and Flynn alongside the spelling games. The games are well-designed to be fun as well as teaching spelling and letter recognition, and the games automatically adjust to be more of a challenge the more they are played so that they don't become too easy. The story is well-presented and the art section has some really nice touches. I like the way the games link into the story and use characters and ideas from the film combined with eduational activities. This wasn't a cheap item but it's worth the money because it's a product that will be used again and again, and has genuine educational value in terms of literacy skills. Highly recommended.

My 5 yrs old loves it, its perfect for her age...very very useful with spelling but fun ...all the leapfrog products are generally good,,but this one is excellent.
