StarCat Ultra Mini USB Aroma Essential Oil Diffusers

November 2016 UPDATE: After a little less than 6 months of using this diffuser, it no longer works. When I plug it in there is a blue light inside and it will not diffuse. If I had to guess, I would say that water got into the electrical components when I was cleaning it. So, it may well have been user error. However, I think that, given this is meant to be used with water, it could have been designed better to prevent this. It had holes which I believe were air vents inside the water compartment. My other diffusers have air vents in the bottom where they will not be in contact with water. This is just speculation, though, so take it with a grain of salt. I really enjoyed it while I was using it so I can't completely not recommend it - I would just say if you decide to purchase be extremely careful when cleaning it. For myself, I have decided to look for a better product even if I have to pay a bit more. I really liked the convenience and portability of this diffuser and will be looking for another for this function.I LOVE this little diffuser. I was looking for one that I could take with me on vacation. I've gotten so used to diffusing EOs at night I just can't stand to live without them even for just a few days. I also wanted one I could use at my desk (I work at home) and I'm on a budget so price was a concern as well. This little guy is better than the big diffuser I have. For one, it's easier to clean. I also like that I can turn off the lights completely. The other diffuser that I have has 2 buttons, one for the light and one for diffusing. You can turn the lights off, but there's still a light that stays on when you're diffusing (green or red depending on diffusing interval). Since I use that one in my bedroom it's a bit annoying and I usually cover the light up with a sock. The StarCat, though, has only 1 button. First push of the button turns rotates through the different colored lights and diffuses, 2nd push stops rotating the light and continues diffusing, the 3rd push diffuses only with absolutely no lights! I think the button is conveniently located on the front and just slightly under the middle portion of the diffuser.Importantly, it diffuses well. It works perfectly for my desk and does well in a small to medium room. Of course, I wouldn't depend on it for a huge room, but that's not what I got it for anyway. It uses a USB cord which works just fine for me. It is easy to fill. My only concern is that I may accidentally knock it over and spill it. It sits on my desk above my keyboard. The lid doesn't snap into place or anything, just lifts on and off. That being said, I think it would be difficult to knock over because of its shape. It is low and wide making it difficult to tip. I'm also a little nervous about having liquid around my keyboard, though. So far I haven't had any difficulties.Overall, I very much recommend this diffuser. I think it's an excellent choice for traveling or using in a small space. If you're new to diffusing, I think this is a great option. It gives you a chance to try it out without investing a lot of money. I think this works just as well as my more expensive diffuser.

Stopped working after 1 month. It was nice while it lasted. It worked as advertised, putting out a nice stream of scent. The auto-shutoff feature was very handy. After a month, it doesn't work. The lights still come on, but it doesn't diffuse. When it stopped working, I tried emptying the water reservoir and wiping it with a damp cloth -- no help. I tried cleaning the inside of the reservoir with a damp cloth with mild detergent -- no help. Would not recommend this product.--UPDATEJust days after my initial 1-star review in October 2016, I was surprised to be contacted by the seller. They apologized for my poor experience with their product and sent me a replacement at no cost. I didn't even have to return the broken unit. That is outstanding customer service in my opinion. I've held off on updating my review for several months to give the new unit a chance to show me that it wasn't going to be a dud too. I'm pleased to say that the new unit has been going strong for over 4 months now. I've adjusted my review to a 4-star review. It would be a 5-star except for the bad unit that I originally purchased. Great customer service! Based on my complete experience, I would now recommend this product.

This cute little diffuser is very efficient, portable, and enjoyable. It is a nice size for an average size bedroom or office space. It really packs a nice punch. It changes colors (making it a cute night light), but also can stop to showcase a particular color only or no light at all based all on your personal preference. Personally, I've had this little guy run for about 6 hours before it shut off automatically due to the lack of water. The USB connectability is amazing as I can sit it on my desk at work and plug it into my computer but can also take it home and plug it into the wall using a USB wall adapter (I have several due to my many electronic devices - They are also available at your local dollar store or 5 below). The only critique I have is that it needs an absolutely flat surface to work properly and is easily toppled because the device has no grip, feet, or stand to stabilize it. This isn't a huge problem, you just have to be aware of this and make sure the device is steady and on a stable, flat surface. All in all, I truly enjoy it and would recommend it to my friends and family!
