Very nice antique latch
Really looks antique. Fits well in our old Vermont farmhouse.

Exactly what I wanted
The latch and brackets are well made and solid. It was exactly the look I wanted. The only weird thing is that in order to hang the latch and all three brackets you need 12 screws and they only include 9. Didnt matter to me as I wasn’t using all three brackets, but just odd. Still worked exactly how I wanted. Now the dogs and toddlers can’t open the barn doors to my office!

Cast Iron Gate Latch
I installed this on our barn door for the family room. It has a great effect with that hammered look. Matches the handles. This would probably rust if you put it outside like the other reviews said. But inside, it looks outstanding!

FLATHEAD Screw?!!
Admittedly, I am mounting this (or trying to, finally) on VERY hard, mesquite-wood, outdoor gate doors BUT the flathead screw do not make things any easier; I maybe look for Philips-head replacements. So far I have broken 3 drill bits just while making increasingly larger pilot hole for the first one. The straight-head screws seem a bad choice overall; they do make it harder to get the latch secured.Otherwise, it seems like an apt design for my situation; we’ll see how well it holds up when i EVENTUALLY succeed in mounting it!

Beautiful quality latch
This latch is so beautiful in person. It's thick and sturdy looking. It will look beautiful on my new cedar gate. It installed perfectly abd easily. The latch works well and us strong. I think I will enjoy it for years to come.

A Thief With a Screwdriver Can Break Into your [Shed]
This item is well made but not well designed. The screws are 'in the open' after installation...a dream for any thief with a screwdriver. It's all 'for show'.Don't use this latch to secure anything that you value!

Better than advertised
Beautiful well-made product. End user can substitute small stainless steel bolts to make more secure and won't rust.

Good solid latch
Product exactly as advertised. Used on a small door under pizza oven and the black cast iron works beautifully with the pizza oven colour

Aesthetic look only not robust enough for actual use
Latch broke within a few weeks of use. The securing mechanism behind plate is very light and not suitable for being used to secure a door.

looks great, but to be a little more secure, it should be maybe 8".
