Glad I read it, but wouldn't really re-read it
I'm conflicted. What the book did well -1) nice pace for the story, got toward the last 20 pages still thinking "how the heck is this going to end?"2) character development wasn't too bad3) didn't devolve into total supernatural hogwash4) The dialogue was pretty good, kind of reminded me of reading a script which makes sense considering a famed director had a hand in writing it. Good focus on changes of settings and dialogue.5) I like novels that don't leave reality too much, and I think this had a good balance of supernatural that doesn't get TOO unbelievableWhat it didn't do well (in my opinion, but I'm a nobody, so who knows)1) I got to the last 10 pages thinking "will this end, or leave us hanging", so the ending felt rushed2) The characters were a little cookie cutter in their motives.3) I finished it last night, and am having trouble thinking of a lot of points to bring up, so it's not a very memorable book. To me, that means I didn't fall in love with any of the characters which makes the stakes feel a bit low.Overall it was fun. Worth a read if you like supernatural thrillers

Good Read
It wasn’t as good as The Strain , which I could not put down but I like it. Kept me going back.

Del Toro and Hogan Strike again
I am a huge fan of Del Toro and I loved his last book series. I bought this and was enticed immediately. The book follows an FBI agent who is following mysterious murder-suicides in New York. While following a lead, her partner suddenly tries to kill her. She kills him in self-defense. However, she is given the stigma of being a "cop killer." Eventually, she follows a similar case to the one that led to her partner's death. She then crosses paths with a mysterious man who knows more about these murders than he leads on.
