That's important when it comes to sizing because most people "size" their fingers for rings with very slender bands. The part of your finger that this ring fits (which is between the knuckle and the bottom of your finger) is usually wider than the very bottom of your finger. So please measure THAT part of your finger. For example, the interior measurement of this ring is about size 8, and it fits on my size 7 finger. I find it's usually good to go with a full size up when wearing a wide band ring.
