Anyone know the difference between the Freud D1040X and the D1040A blades. Thanks!

The D1040A had a 0.087" thick plate. The X is thinner,.071" or something close to that.

Hi, i'm considering either the d1040x or the d1050x for general purposes. which one should i pick?

Both are quality blades. The decision lies in how fine or fast of a cut you want to make; one is a trade off to the other, will you be using it primarily for crosscut or rips. The 40 tooth will cut faster but the 50 will cut cleaner. In hardwood the 40 will not burn lighter woods like maple but will give you a courser cut. If you are looking for a general purpose blade where you will be cutting a variety of woods across and with the grain the 40 is an excellent choice. Depending on how you answered the previous questions the 50 may be a better choice.
