full protection for commuting
I commute 2000 miles per year on city streets and decided it was time for a helmet that provided more coverage, and one that had MIPS. After all, what price do you put on your own brain bucket?I have had several Giro helmets and liked their designs. I chose this because it has extra protection around the temples, plus a lot more protection for the back of the head. It also has a harness that cinches securely to the head. (I looked at another brand that had a pony-tail cutout in back--an unacceptable compromise in coverage, for me anyway!)I wear L or XL hats normally. The regular size in this helmet fit okay, but didn't have quite enough spare room for a winter beanie. So I got the Large. It fits way down on my head, just above my eyebrows. It feels a little strange but doesn't interfere with vision. And the forehead padding is quite effective in stopping sweat in my eyes! It cinches down very securely: the shell can slip but the harness does not (MIPS). The rear ratchet knob is very easy to adjust.I like the longer visor to block the sun while commuting. I don't need the visor to flip up, as I never were sunglasses. But it still works fine to attach my Bike Peddler rear view mirror. Just make sure you keep the visor in place or the mirror will be out of position!

Life saver
Helmet fits very well. MIPS is the way to go. Hit the mountain bike trails on Easter morning and went over the handlebars coming off a decent sized drop. Landed head first. I will say this helmet may have very well saved my life or from serious injury at the very least. No head injury, no concussion, no lingering headache....just a very sore shoulder. Thanks Giro!!!

great protection
I commute on city streets every day, so I wanted a helmet with maximum coverage (short of a downhill helmet). This one, which I think is actually considered a MTB helmet, covers the back of the head and the temples. And the MIPS harness allows the shell to move around, which seems odd, but that's the way it's intended, so the shell takes more of the impact.I have a fairly large head and normally buy XL or XXL hats. I ended up getting the Large size. It is quite large and sits just above my eyebrows. Some people won't like that, but I like that the harness feels thoroughly secure. It also prevents sweat from dripping in my eyes as much. I tried a Medium, which fit, but didn't expand quite large enough to accommodate a winter beanie. The rear compression knob is easy to turn, and the straps sit comfortably on the side of my head. Plus I really liked the glossy red color! To each his own!

Giro Source = Great Helmet!
Did a lot of research for my next helmet to go with the new mountain bike I recently purchased. Now I’m ready for the next season. Great looking helmet, lightweight and comfortable. Worth it!

Nice
This was for my husband. He hasn’t worn it yet since it’s winter but hopefully it’s breathable because he sweats a lot.

Great fit but watch the size charts
The size chart in the upper picture area is correct (Superfit size chart)The chart in the full description is NOT accurate. Here's a sizing hint:I wear L-XL Flexfit Caps.Measured my head at 23 3/4 inches. The size Large Giro is perfect, the adjustment right in the middle. Its a great helmet, with the most protection area.Actually sits around my head, rather than on top of it.

Fantastic helmet for xl sized heads
My head is approx 24.5" in circumference, which puts me outside of the normal size range for helmets. I searched for a while until I found this Giro in XL. It fits perfectly - perhaps even a little small - but it has that adjustable thing on the inside so I can snug it up. If you have a huge head, get this helmet

Finally found one for my big head
It was hard to find a bike helmet for my big head (63cm circumference), and although many brick-and-mortar shops offer L and XL sizes for this circumference, they are all too narrow for me (and too long). This one fits perfect. The visor can be removed if you prefer a less sporty style, however small sticker says that nothing should be removed.
