With hardwood and slate tile floors in my house, I was beginning to have pain from walking around in bare feet or thin flip flops. I remembered how comfortable my clogs were back in college, and decided to give this brand a try. What a relief---these hard wooden soles prevent all the weird movement that was giving me pain as I walked (is that why podiatrists make you wear the inflexible "boot" after surgery?). I have Dansko clogs as well, but prefer the overall fit of these Troentorps.The leather upper is sized pretty generously (I ordered up a half-size as recommended), these fit fine on my wide, high-arch feet. One star off for a couple of cosmetic issues: 1)I love the bright red upper color, but the natural wood sole does get a little dirty with wear; 2)there is a label glued on the footbed heel, and it peeled off the wood after a month or so (leaving some glue residue I had to then clean off).
