Fits 2006 Gary Fisher w/Rear Brakes!
Took some time, thanks to pandemic delays at New York ISC, but well worth the wait!(One side note also related to this particular time period, Musguard confirmed that a few recent items had their velcro straps flipped during assembly at their fulfillment warehouse. Simple matter of twisting around based on logic and close examination of the install pictures so don't get frustrated if you can't get the strap to hold.)This perfectly fills my need and I look forward to having a dry backside the next time rain interrupts a nice ride. I ride a 2006 Gary Fisher mountain bike with rear brakes and I loathe the idea of installing a permanent fender or rack for the rare occasions I take long, organized, tour rides where I don't get to choose the day/time/weather. With this always wrapped around my tube, I'll be moments away from protection without any additional weight or parts susceptible to breakage when trail riding (or when locked up in weird neighborhoods). When I first installed the Musguard, I attached it higher on my post (above the strap for a triangle saddle/frame pouch - first pic) and, while it was snug in the frame/seat stay triangle, it wasn't completely supported so would rub on the wheel. After rereading some of the descriptions and looking at their install pics, I tried again with the attachment point lower (below the bag strap - second pic) and, now, the Musguard is supported by the cross member of the seat stay triangle. Unfortunately, while it will certainly protect my backside, the angle is a little severe so I tried snugging it tight against (almost over) the pouch strap (third pic) and I think it'll be perfect if it doesn't slide down while riding (worst case, it goes back to pic 2). Ultimately, however it's installed, the Musguard will protect and appears to hold its shape pretty well. If letting it rub on the wheel affords me more protection, that may be the better choice even if it means ordering another one to replace it after friction wear.Installation is a breeze (we'll see how that goes in a rain storm) and storage is mostly a snap except for the thickness of the mountain bike tube (just need to snug it a little before the tabs meet - fourth [upside down?] pic). Hope it doesn't get so popular that somebody sees and decides to grab it off my bike because, now that I have it, I never want to be without it!

Probably should have gone with regular rigid fenders.
I think these are more of a novelty item after using them. Nice looking product and unique roll up ability but they are quite annoying to install when they are flopping whatever direction they choose. Once I got them both on it made me not want to remove them again, and considering that I ride a steel frame bike and not a "weight weenie" I would have been better off with standard rigid fenders that have more coverage. But if weight or just being different is your motivation then these should be right up your alley.

The concept is great but it doesn't fully work for my bicycle
The concept is great but it doesn't fully work for my bicycle. It was designed to fit through the triangle in the back part of the frame but mine is narrow and angled up. The result is that the fender is pinched more and isn't as stable. It's not a huge problem unless its windy. That being said, I will still continue to use it because it's convenient to carry and does its job.

Do not Purchase this Product!
.This product does not hold its form well enough for its price. Their are much better tire guards that are less expensive. I am trying to return these Musguards. I would suggest other shopper DO NOT purchase these tire guards. This is not a prodict amazon should allow to be sold. DO NOT PURCHASE. BAD DEAL.

Don’t waist your money. it’s junk.
piece of junk. I waisted 18 bucks plus shipping on this crap. and i only has one job (protect my ass from the rain) and it can’t even do that. :( Should have just got a real mud guard.

Don’t buy these...cheap and flimsy.
Lame. Flimsy and hard to install. Go for a ridged tail.

Works as advertised.
Works great on my steel and aluminum fixed gear bikes. I think some of the other reviewers have missed the point of Musguard. If you want a fender that is light, compact, and attractive, then Musguard is the right choice.

Works perfectly
Works perfectly. My backside is no longer getting wet during rides in the rain.

Good guard depending on bike dimensions.
Good for a bike where you don't want some clanky fitting on your bike. Stays very close to the wheel (depending on dimensions of the rear triangle) so no spray.Only thing is it does not work very well with a rear brake on my bike. When the brake is used the guard moves easily and then you get spray from the wheel. Without a brake installed it works perfectly. Is prone to scratches when installing/removing.

Genius!
Best mudguards I've seen for road/commuter bikes if you'd rather not have something permanently mounted when you won't need them all the time.Weigh nothing and can easily be stored in your bag when weather gets less predictable.

light weight mudguard
Light and quick to position. Prefers a bike with no rear break or a large V section aperture in the framewhere the rear break is.
