Don’t judge a book by the cover !
This is no cowboy coffee . Don’t let the name of this gadget fool you. This humble little gadget can make the best cup of gourmet coffee. I have almost all the different coffee gadgets in the world and this little contraption can give all the others a run for their money. uses both percolation and immersion and can make silky smooth cup . No gaskets to break and no moving parts . Trail and travel friendly and easy to clean . Use this to make tea, coffee or any other herbal decoction you can imagine. Don’t use mesh filter but just regular supermarket basket paper filter. Highly recommended!

It’s my everyday way to make coffee
Simple to use but makes great coffee. My recipe, 18 grams of fresh ground coffee to 9 to 10 oz of 212 degree water( I like my coffee hot) Pour water in, let stand for 2 min immersion then stir a few times then let stand another 2 mins. After last 2 mins pull the plug to drain. Great coffee.

gets the job done, no serious complaints
fantastic tasting coffee, super cheap and simple. I think it could use a redesign, but about the design is glaringly bad or anything, just a couple things that could be approved on.

Very sad this is no longer available
This is by far the best coffee maker I've taken camping with me. Brews great coffee by giving you control over the immersion time and uses a filter so it's easy to clean. Best combination of immersion brewing (like a french press) and pour over brewer. Brews one cup at a time which is fine by me, my travel grinder only grinds enough beans for one cup at a time to. I don't understand the negative reviews, this does a great job at what it is. If you like more in your cup, you can always add more water after you pull the plug and use it like a standard pourover coffee maker.

Makes a good cup of coffee
The media could not be loaded. Handy little device. Makes good coffee. It's kinda like a French press but reverse if that makes sense, so instead of pushing the plunger down so that you coffee grounds get pushed to the bottom, you just pull out and it drains like a pour over

Not what I'd hoped for
This is a very simple, easy-to-use little drip coffee maker--but it's so small and takes so long to make a reasonably-sized mug of coffee that I will retire it. I read loads of the questions here (and at the company's website) about the drip time and grind size and I believe the grind size I'm using is appropriate, but it takes too long to be practical. Also, the placement of the drip hole makes it hard to get the last half-inch or so to drip out. Yes, you tip it and let it drip, but the hole isn't right on the edge between the side and the bottom so it takes some wiggling and jiggling. If the hold were set closer to the edge, I think it would be more effective.I don't make small cups of coffee. I make a big mug (12-15 oz). Maybe that's the problem. The amount of coffee that you get out of this, though, is closer to a small cup of espresso than to a traditional little coffee cup. I've played around with different ways to get a bigger mug of coffee (babysitting and constantly stirring to uncover the drip hole) and eventually settled on brewing something really strong and then topping if off with more hot water. That's ended up being about a 15-minute process and I have to reheat it all. I'm going to continue my search, probably going back to a single-serve maker that brews directly into the cup.

Perfect for what I need!
I was looking for a way to make coffee in my RV so that I wouldn't need to buy an electric coffee maker and take up room on my limited counter space. This is it! I like that cleanup is so easy as opposed to a French Press. I don't want any grounds getting into my grey tank at all but it seems inevitable with a French Press. This is a full immersion way of brewing coffee, like a French Press, where the coffee steeps while brewing for full flavor extraction, rather than water just passing through the grounds like drip coffee makers. I think this earned it's place in my RV!

Yeee-haw, coffee time
Sometimes life leaves you lonely...one coffee cup on the counter, not two. Luckily you have Cowboy Joe to have coffee with you...This works great and delivers a nice smooth cup of coffee. I heat my water in my mug in the microwave. Gives me a nice hot mug to keep my coffee hot and warms my hands in the winter. While it is heating, I grind a heaping 1oz (2T) of beans and fill my filter. I pour the hot water in the grinds, finding the plug works great and no leaking while brewer sits on the counter, put some cream in the cup (hot mug warms my cream) put Cowboy Joe atop the mug and then brew, pull the plug and a lovely cup of coffee takes care of my morning. Wonderful addition to a nice coffee mug, bag of beans for a gift. Great for the office. Highly recommend.
