Puts the smooth in Smoothie
Love this thing...simple as that. I had 2 questions. Is it quiet? Does it blend well? Yes and Yes.I was using a conventional blender that was not only very loud, it was leaving my smoothie chunky. I didn't mind terribly but my wife and kids did on both counts. They didn't care for little kale bits in their teeth. :-) Jamba Juice should know how to blend a smoothie, and they do. I've seen the videos of ones costing multiples of this one, touting the two prong blades, etc. But if you are looking to make smoothies, I can't imagine any improvement over this one. BTW it has a 4 prong blade. Overall look and feel says quality. I've had it almost 2 months not and here are my observations.Noise. It is much quieter than traditional blenders straight up. I've compared to my previous blenders, my parents and my in-laws just recently. Tip #1 hold your hand on top and press down lightly. Tip #2 Place blender on a dish towel. It has a rubberized base and it is quiet for a blender but these two tips will help a bit if you are going for the quietest blend.Blend. If I can get a video uploaded you will see it pulses slightly so I never have to stop and push stuff down or mix. It gets a nice vortex going in the middle that moves everything around. I didn't realize how unsmooth my smoothies were till I started using this. I dial it up to 5 (love the thick quality feel and function of the dial vs. push buttons) and let it do its thing. As long as you don't stop/start it the pulse is just enough to blend everything but it will not splash up on the lid so easy clean-up. If you start/stop then it will splash up.Clean-up. Since it has the cover for noise reduction it has no handle, so if you have small hands (insert DT joke) it may be a bit awkward to pour one handed. The container sides undulate but its still pretty easy to clean, there are no sharp creases for food to get stuck. There is reasonable space at the bottom between the blade tips and the sides for a sponge as well. I use a faucet sprayer and then a sponge. As mentioned the top cover really doesn't get much on the underside at all. The rubber on the base will collect some protein powder dust if not careful. Fits on my counter under my cabinet with the cover on just fine.Breakfast recipe - So Delicious Coconut Milk Unsweetened Vanilla, 2 scoops Orgain Organic Protein Vanilla, fresh Kale, 1/2 banana, 1/2 avocado, some frozen mixed berries. Sometimes I'll add a little peanut butter and/or a sprinkling of Tumeric powder. The peanut butter for a flavor change or for a little fat if I don't have an avocado, the Tumeric powder....well its supposed to be good for you...doesn't help the flavor! I look forward to breakfast now as it makes for a satisfying refreshing start to the day.Summary this blender had the perfect "blend" of good quality, an excellent blend action/result (well above traditional blenders) and, while not cheap, not crazy expensive either when compared to some up market choices. I would buy this even if it wasn't quieter than regular blenders...which it is.

Does the job +
Update...I have been using this blender for almost 2 months now. I really do love it. I wanted to update after using it for a while because when you first get a product you don't know all the pros and cons but I still love this blender. The pitcher is plastic but it's large enough to blend a days worth of smoothies and the lid keep everything inside even if you fill it to the brim. All the parts are strong and sturdy. No cheap plastic gears. I Never use the quiet shield still. I would buy it again and I have recommended it to others. Great blender for the price.Original post: Awesome blender, it really blends a silky smooth smoothie. The pitcher is a nice size, not too big but big enough and it has marks for measuring. Easy to clean. But Quiet...not so much. Its fairly loud. The shield helps but I just don't really use it since it does t take long to blend my drinks. I still love it since noise isn't an issue for me and my Nutribullet was just just as loud.

Woo hoo! Make some noise for this quieter blender! (Note: I said "quieter" not "quiet)
This is a quietER blender but definitely not a quiet one - so don't try to use this in a library or anything ; ) I bought this after returning a 1200 watt Ninja model, which sounded like a jackhammer in my apartment. This Jamba unit about 60% as loud as that one, so at least it's a major improvement. I love all this power, which allows me to toss in ice cubes, nuts, broccoli, carrots and other hard vegetables -- all of which are blended effortlessly. In my case, I bought the Jamba Quiet Shield Blender so I wouldn't have to make any nutritional compromises as I go through several months of dental work -- so even the fruits and vegetable I can't chew I'm now able to drink with ease. Out of fear of touching the Jack-the-Ripperesque blade, I simply rinse the blender jar in hot water immediately after pouring the shake into a separate tumbler., and toward the end of the rinse I shake the water-filled jar to dislodge any food particles that could be left behind. A few repeat rinses, and the cleanup is done! What a great way to get your dark, leafy greens if you really don't love to eat vegetables (or even if you do) -- and with the option to be creative and toss in just about anything edible, your whoops of joy will be the loudest noise this blender will make/

Works great... for it's short life span
Got the Jamba Quiet Shield Blender with 32 oz in Oct 2017. It is now March 2018 and the motor is dying. Inconsistent on whether or not the blades will turn. All I've used it for is blending 1/2 cup frozen blueberries + 1 cup frozen sliced strawberries + 1 scoop protein powder + 3/4 cup water, almost every day. It's still under the "great" 5 year warranty, but the customer has to pay for postage both directions. For that price, I might as well buy another ninja. It was cheaper and lasted longer. The Jamba is MUCH quieter, but for the total price difference, I'd take the noise. The Jamba worked great when it works.

Seemed like a toy blender -- sort of like an Easy-Bake oven is to a real oven. No power and it felt as if it would break really easily. Returned it.

Quiet and capable blender
I am so thrilled with this blender. The quiet shield really works. Sure you can hear it but it's much quieter than other blenders out there - even high end ones. I really like that the base is compact so it doesn't take up too much countertop space. And the 32oz container is perfect for my blending needs which are really mostly smoothies. If you're used to a 64 oz container and like that size this will be too small. I've used the blender for fruits, veggies (frozen and not) and ice and find my smoothies are so smooth. Frozen bananas are a staple for me in smoothies and I used to get some chunks left over - no more. I also find it easy to clean and it looks so sleek and pretty. Definitely a win.
