Great for moss pole.
The media could not be loaded. I also used this in a terrarium before. Now days I mainly use it for the moss poles and it works great, the same as sphagnum moss as far as moisture. Plants root into right way. Some people mention that it smells, I like the smell, it’s an earthy smell. The water has a beige color when you squeeze it after soaking, when using it for the plants, I dont care but in the terrarium, I washed it as much as a can with well water then when I had a chance I soaked it in rain water but rain water is not mandatory, I just wanted to do it because I had it.I keep a couple of terrariums for the winter time since gray tree frogs loves to hide in my house plants, all my house plants go outside for the spring, summer and fall. So in the fall, I see these frogs, sometimes I can find them quickly and take them out, other times it’s already too cold, I don’t have the heart to dump them out there when it’s like Dec, Jan, you know what I mean.Overall, I do recommend this product and for sure will continue to use it.You can see more on my I G Ufitlinda.

Perfect for my terrarium!
I love how versatile this moss is! I use a brick for my 2 40-gallon terrariums, and the other for my potted plants to hold in moisture, especially my tropical species! When using for my terrariums, I have to soak and pick through for any small stems or pieces not needed in my turtles' enclosure's. Compared to other brands and different types of sphagnum moss, this one is best, especially for the amount and price! All of the other ones I have tried have way too many stems and various scrap pieces that can be harmful to your reptiles! All moss will contain some stem and unwanted extra material, but I have never had a big issue with these. Never had any with mold, unlike many others I have seen or received! One brick soaked for 15 mins will fill up both of my 40-gallon terrariums about 2 to 3 inches. Just enough for my burrowing babies to have a nice home that is safe and sanitary! I love how it can be reused several times before discarding and getting new! A good rinse under hot water and squeezed to damp, I reuse it about three time. I like to do a deep clean about once a month, so one brick lasts all together around 4 months!

Perfect substrate for plant propagation 🌿
I purchased this moss specifically to propagate some slow rooting plant cuttings and a few Alocacia corms that I recently got. This is a long fiber sphagnum that comes packaged dry & tightly compressed in brick form. It breaks apart easily, and fills out a lot once wet! A little goes a long way! To me, it smells like fresh earth. The moisture retention of this sphag inside of a humidity dome is incredible. It'd be perfect for a living terrarium. 🌿This particular brand, Exo Terra, had the best price that I could find after a pretty extensive search, so I was pleased about that. The only reason I didn't give this product 5 stars is because the packaging states it's a 2 pack (?) but I only received one brick. Idk what that's supposed to mean - is this single brick equivalent to a 2 pack of something else, or what? It's confusing and I'm still not sure if I got short changed.Aside from that, I'm extremely happy with the performance of this moss - it fluffs out nicely and retains moisture forever! My philo cutting has already started producing a root that look really healthy, and it's only been a couple of weeks!

More than enough!
For most people, this is gonna be more than enough honestly, I would recommend just cutting it into fourths and using it like that and store the rest if you’re using it it for a smaller tank like a 10 or 15 gallon!

The perfect lightweight substrate!
I have a stack of six 4x2 PVC enclosures. I needed to keep items in the cages lightweight so the cages don't sag, but I also needed something to maintain humidity. Once this dries out a little, it's very lightweight.I dumped it all into one spot in my female ball python's enclosure. She spent the next 3 days using the lower half of her body to push it where she wanted it. Great enrichment!

Great value for your money, just don't rush it like I did!
I'm a big fan of this plume moss! I love using it to accent my herp and invertebrate's enclosures (I currently have it as a top substrate layer in my garden snail, white's tree frog, crested gecko, and fire skink's enclosures), and a little goes a long way! I still have probably about half of it left. However, just make sure to be patient and let it hydrate all the way on its own. I'm used to smushing up and breaking down compressed cocofiber blocks so that I don't have to wait as long to add them to my enclosures, but you don't want to do that with this! Maybe it's common sense in retrospect, but by doing that with my moss, I just ended up breaking it all down into tiny little fluffy bits, when longer strands definitely would have been easier to work with, and looked prettier.Live and learn, though! I'll definitely be ordering this again to use for my pets, and it works great for giving them a nice natural 'carpet' to walk on, as well as helping to hold humidity in the lower layers of substrate.

Found plastic in the moss
I hydrated about a quarter of the moss and I found plastic in it. Looks and feels like plastic from a grocery bag and is gray. I decided not to use as I worry for my frogs. I've bought many of this companies products and this is the first something has happened.
