Kipper: The Blue Balloon

My children loved Kipper and his balloon and now my grandchildren do too.Bought this copy for our newer members of the family so I could pass our precious hardback version to my daughter, it’s true owner.

I bought this second hand for my daughter, but half way through reading it to her we realised a page has been ripped out by the previous owner, so the story didn't make sense. Another fold-put page is badly ripped and would need taping together, which I don't want to have to do. Condition is definitely not 'good'. Returned.

I used to be a library assistant before taking early retirement, once a week we had a storytelling session at my library with various assistants taking it in turn to read a selection of books to the children. The Blue Balloon was my favourite to read to them. The text is simple and the pictures are a pure joy. The story offers plenty of opportunity to 'ham it up' and dramatise for a young audience. I have purchased this to read to my very young grandson, he's to young to appreciate it just yet but I hope in time it grows to become his favourite bed time story.

This is the fourth copy of this book that I have bought. I love using it with children who have low self-esteem or something they would like to change for themselves. My colleagues agree with me which is why the other three copies have been 'borrowed' .....

Cost of book was more than the RRP cost new. Original owner had written their name in it. Pages were very dirty, creased and not suitable for a young child. When I requested a return I would have only been able to get £2 back after postage. Not worth it but I feel cheated.
