KES-410ACA Laser Lens Replacement Repair Part for PS3

Man it was hard looking for the right model number for my ps3. do your research alot of the other sellers may have your model number in their title but it may not fit your ps3.Read the reviews to see mentions of other peoples ps3 and so forth. My ps3 is the Metal gear solid which uses this lens.It was a breeze replacing this, Just make sure you put the black cover back in the right position or it won't spin/read the disc.This was a life saver.

At first it didn't work but I found because of the assembly problem. Also, it will only fit certain serial # so check b4 you buy!Blue-ray drive re-assembly is a bit tricky, so do your homework before you leave your feedback.Year 2014 is not the time you want to buy a new PS3. This under $20 replacement parts saved me $250 for a new PS3 purchase.

I am typing up this review a mere day after replacing my dysfunctional stock PS3 bluray lens (on an older 60GB PS3) with this product. Bearing that in mind, this review only reflects my initial thoughts and may be subject to change pending the ongoing performance of the product; I've been hearing that some of these replacement kits (not necessarily this model) tend to go bad very early in their life.Installation was quite easy if you are patient and do not rush. I initially made the mistake of disassembling the bluray drive to find that I left a disc inside the drive. Do NOT disassemble the drive with a disc inside of it. Some of the mechanisms, specifically those repsonsible for insertion and ejection of the disc, are in a state of tension with a disc present and will not go back together easily. Youtube is a good source for DIY videos regarding lens replacement.The only comment I can make regarding product performance is that it is working normally, and that is all I asked for. If it holds up, then I'll stand by my initial assessment that this is an excellent, cost-effective alternative to other fixes available at the moment. For roughly $30, it's at least worth a try before exploring other options.

works flawlessly, simple drop in, no need to adjust pots or anything just swap out your old laser with this and you'll have a brand new PS3. just make sure you have the right version of the laser your swapping out.

I didn't know what I was doing. Which is something probably most of these reviewers won't admit to. Even with electrical engineering experience by my side and some design and manufacturing experience. I didn't get my client's PS to work. So.........Yeah bro. Good luck!

I was amazed to find that a replacement laser for my PS3 was this inexpensive and easy to replace. My PS3 would not read any discs and after replacement of this unit the console is working perfectly. This is the best unit i have found with regards to pricing and also my unit came packaged well and protected from any shipping damage.

NOTE: This is for the SECOND GENERATION 80GIG PS3. that is the 80 gig ps3 WITHOUT ps2 backwards compatibility, memory card slots and controller ports. it seems all the negative review come from people not buying the correct lens.arrived on time in foam lined box in a bubble wrap envelope. rather than pay the 150 sony was asking to fix the lens i purchased this little guy and it has been workin every day for 4 months. its a bit hard to find a repair walkthrough on youtube but keep looking and you'll find the correct one.Update: three years and it still works great!!!
