Davis 2% Chlorhexidine Ointment, 4 oz

I was so excited when I found this! I have been in the veterinary field since 1993 and we used this alot. Then after several years, I couldn't find it anymore. It works wonderfully for scrapes and minor wounds on both small and large animals. I also even use it for myself and my family. It doesn't sting or burn and works great to keep wounds from getting infected after cleaning them thoroughly. The smell is pleasant and it isn't greasy or goopy like alot of ointments. This is well worth the money and a little goes a long way, so it will last for a long time.

This is a great product, pleasant scent, easier to use than a spray or wipe, it goes on great, and it's helping clear up our dogs yeast infection that we've been battling for some time now

My tortie princess Mia had a huge scab on her face and a small one under her ear. I have no idea how she got it and it was barely visible because of where is was and her coat pattern but it felt like a big lump with a scab on top. I had been using antibiotic ointment on it and it wasn't improving at all after almost a week, so I decided to give this a shot. I have used chlorhexidine wipes and rinse in the past and I know it's great for treating a multitude of things, so I was hopeful. I applied it only once a day and within 1 day the scab under her ear was 80% gone and after 3 days the one on her face was probably 70% improved. This will definitely be my go to product for when they get scratches or sore spots. I also like how thick and goopy it is, because it stayed on the wound much better than a regular ointment. It was also easier to apply than an ointment because it got into the nooks and crannies of the wound much better.

My 4 yes old mix terrier was having problems with skin outbreaks really bad, after several unsuccessful treatments ordered by her veterinary such as injections, medical shampoo and pills, a veterinary friend from my country told me about this product and I am very pleased with the ointment and the spray I got from Amazon. After applying it to my dog her skin dried almost immediately and the rash disappeared. No more liking nor scratching and she is sleeping as a baby. Great product Worked as a miracle for my dog after 6 months of suffering,

Love this for my dogs ears when they get itchy. Works very well. I also use it for the wrinkles on their face for when it sometimes gets sore. Excellent product!

My dog had a scab from a tick bite. Tick was totally removed but still left its mark. Application of this product dried up the scab and it fell off within a week. No scar. She's been on antibiotics resulting from an ACL repair, and she had a blood test a week after tick bite, and there was no disease found. So, all things considered, this was a great addition to the process.

Works almost instantly for my dog’s itchy skin. She will stop scratching as soon as I put it on. I also use it on and sores that she may get. It smells nice too which is a plus!

This ointment is not what I thought it'd be. It's thick like a paste, and blue in color. This results in stains to the tissue/fur and the only way to get it out is with a bath. What I do instead is get very warm (not hot) water and a tiny amount of this stuff. I mix it vigoursly for several minutes (be patient, as it takes time). Even after mixing well little blue chunks will still exist. Grab a paper coffee filter (or paper towel) and place it over a cup. Pour the mixed solution over the paper filter or paper towel. This keeps the blue chunks that refuse to dissolve out, so they won't stain your pets fur. Toss out your filter, grab a cotton ball, and dip it in the watered down solution to apply to your pet. Yes, this does dissolve it and make it less effective than if you just put the paste on directly, but it'll still help the healing process without the blue due staining your pet's fur.

Great for treating my pets
