Shiva is Shakti as Shaktk is Shiva. Rudra (the proper Rig-Vedic name of Shiva, which is but a title for Rudra, just as Hari is a title for Vishnu). All gods are their own consort. Shiva is Shakti is Parvati is Kali and vice-versa. Nothing can destroy Shiva, and Kali is the embodiment of absolute nothing, hence the symbol of Rudra/Shiva beneath her. -- ideally, this tapestry should be used as a heavily symbolic meditational deity image, much like a Vajrayana (Tibetan/Bhutanese/Nepalese) Buddhist thangka tapestry, or like a yantra, as within the context of tantric practices in general. Colors and decor are even more vibrant and lovely than the pictures. An essential for any pracitioner of shaivist, mahadevi, or tantric traditions (especially vamachara.) Compared to my previous variant of the same image in the same format, this one is much better in dye color (Kali is a beautiful deep royal blue and Shiva is a lovely shade indigo) with much finer detailing that I appreciate for my mobile mandir immensely. Hung above where I work when I get irritated with the computer and stare off I find the Dark Mother staring back and reminding me that time waits for no one and promptly get back to work just as I wanted. I'm jayanti mangala Kali, Bhudrakali Kapalini! Blessings of Kali Ma upon us all.

It definitely has a weird smell on arrival so plan to air it out. However, this is a beautiful, large tapestry. I didn’t realize from the photo but there are some gold sequins sewn onto it, giving it a really nice pop of shine.

This tapestry stunk of mildew when I opened the package. I washed it - big mistake - hoping it would get the smell out. Instead, it just destroyed the tapestry. The edges were not hemmed so they just frayed in the wash.

Love it! It really adds a nice touch to the room. And it ships so quickly. Was expecting it September 21st but got it September 4th.
