Great gentle drops, Easy to administer in food/Treats!
Loving this product so far! In the past I had a cat Chelsea (a He) who was diagnosed with kidney crystals at age 12 and lived until 19 afterwards which seemed to surprise my new cat's vet when I mentioned it recently. Back then (he died in 2008), in the late 1990's I didn't have access to pet versions of natural (homeopathic) remedies so I turned to the human made ones which had similar ingredients but also were stabilized with alcohol to preserve them which I wasn't happy using for Chelsea, but had no other choice in those days. The slight alcohol in them made it hard to hide even in food, but it obviously worked because as I treated him over the years on and off with a few weeks of doses each time, he did live another 7 years before he passed with heart and kidney failure. The concept was as I was told at the time when crystals are detected kidney failure will follow, as the crystals literally cut into and damage the kidney structure so to treat the cystitis is key and I felt those drops did the trick for some time. I had actually slacked off with that treatment after a few years but wish I had continued as I feel the kidneys may have been spared toward the end if I had. But I believe that is why the vets were surprised that from age twelve he actually lived until 19, once diagnosed. The only thing I changed in his diet at that time was adding homeopathic remedy drops for the kidneys. This time, after adopting my new love Leo from the endangered List at animal control, I wanted to start doing some cleansing of his kidneys and liver now before any issues arise and started my search for herbal support and found this product. What also prompted me however is I saw him do something a few weeks ago which made me very very nervous - I had seen it before when kidney failure looms - sitting in the litter box or near it as if wishes to go but can't. That made me say time to do this now as he still seems to go regularly and normal amounts. So I bought this and love it because its non-alcohol blend. The smell is of plants or weeds really so its easily taken by Leo in his treats. I take his greenies in the daytime on a little plate, put the drops on top of the nuggets and let it somewhat soak in a bit and then give them to him, and as usual he gobbles up his afternoon treats. Then in the evening at his brushing time where he always gets freeze dried salmon or chicken liver nuggets crushed up in spring water, I first take one nugget and crush it in his plate, put the drops and mix in some of the water and then go on to brush him and mix in the rest of his freeze dried treats portion and he eats the entire plate as normal too. So no issue administering these drops whatsoever!I do recommend since cats never love having a syringe or anything shoved into their mouth or their mouth opened (try doing regular dental cleanings lol, most run for the hills!!!), I recommend not judging the product that way as I saw in reviews people did saying their dog or cat hates the taste etc. The taste is a mild weedy or planty taste which can be easily hidden if you add to a treat or piece of their food. That will equal success I think for getting it administered.I have been giving it twice a day for a few weeks since I received the bottle, as this preventative cleaning and so far so good. I have made just a dent in the bottle to date supply wise, and have not seen Leo linger when going to the bathroom TG so I rate this highly as something to try and not wait until it becomes a true medical history but also think of it as a maintaining health regime you can do for a few weeks every two months etc to hopefully also prevent issues. From a book "The Holistic Herbal" I have, here is some info on the believed benefits of each herb included in this mixture:Burdock:Constituents: Flavonoid, glycosides, bitter glycosides, alkaloid, anti-microbial, inulinActions: Diuretic, bitterIndications (summarizing here) most effective for psoriasis, eczema, the bitter stimulates digestive juices and bile secretion- thus aids in appetite and digestion, and so used for anorexia, and also used to aid kidney function and to heal cystitis (cystitis is the crystals in the kidneys resulting in excessive thirst). Burdock is seen to bring the body back to a state of integration and health, removing such indicators of system imbalance.Cleavers:Constituents: Glycoside asperuloside, gallotannic acid, citric acidActions: Diuretic, anti-inflammatory, tonic, astringent, antineoplasticIndications: (Summarizing again here) Very valuable plant and is perhaps the best tonic to the lymphatic system available. As a lymphatic tonic with altertative and diuretic actions it may be used for a wide range of problems where the lymphatic system is involved. Thus it would be used for swollen glands, tonsillitis, skin conditions of the dry variety such as psorasis, and it will be useful in cystitis and other urinary conditions where there may be pain.Dandelion:Constituents: Glycosides, triterpenoids, Choline and up to 5% potassiumActions: Diuretic, Cholagogue, anti-rheumatic, laxative, tonicIndications: Dandelion is a very powerful diuretic which stimulates kidney function but unlike drugs which due the same but causes loss of potassium in system which can lead to heart conditions, dandelion has one of the best natural sources of potassium. It thus makes an ideally balanced diuretic that may be used safely wherever such an action is needed such as water retention due to heart problems. As a Cholagogue, it may be used for inflammation and congestion of the liver and gall bladder and as part of a wider treatment for muscular rheumatism it can be most effective. This herb is most valuable as a general tonic and perhaps the best widely applicable diuretic and liver tonic.Hopes all this info helps : ) PS - I saw on another page someone wrote a review that it was dangerous that herbs which are diuretics were used - which is false - every herbal kidney treatment I have seen for humans and animals focuses on diuretic herbs because the idea is to bring as much fluid to the kidneys to help flush out the toxins as much possible and is why IV fluids are administered in times of kidney failure as well. With any kidney issues my advice is to make sure to always have the purest fresh clean water available for you baby to drink as much as they wish.

This does seem to help my 20 year old male cat with kidney failure to feel a bit better but he HATES IT and tries to hide when he sees the dropper come out.

This supplement is helping her feel better.
I bought this for my parent's cat. She went from not having much energy, to now being able to play after being diagnosed with kidney failure. She's on a special diet and did receive IV fluids for about a week before I bought her this supplement. This supplement is helping her feel better.
