Washed Well
I usually don't rate items so soon after receiving but had to make an exception this time. I received the bed on a Saturday. It is very big. When my 75 pound lab is curled up he doesn't even take up half of it but when he stretches out he fits nice. I wanted a big bed because he hangs off his old bed when he stretches out. I won't go into gory details but the very next day the dog had a cyst burst while sleeping. I was walking out the door for work Monday morning when I pet him goodbye and noticed what happened. The bed was covered in canine secretions and I couldn't deal with it until later that night. I took of the cover and machine washed and air dried. It came perfectly clean! Put the cover back on and voila! Good as new! So I am giving 5 stars for washabity & stain resistance. Warning-the cover fits extremely tight which is as it should be so the padding doesn't bunch up. It is a struggle to get the cover on especially since the bed is so big. I had someone help me. Some complain the cover doesn't fit after washing. Not true. It's just a very tight fit. Some also complain about the egg crate foam padding. I have another bed with the same foam that I've had for many years and it has not flattened out over time. The side bolsters are also still firm after many years. My old and new seem to be made of the same materials inside so I believe it'll stand the test of time.

pretty good bed for the $
I was looking for a really big dog bed for my bullmastiffs (the huge great dane already has a twin mattress in the room) and there aren't a lot of extra large dog beds that really for anything larger than a lab. The price was great and the bed is pretty sturdy but they "cheaped out" on the thickness of the foam at the bottom. Its only about 1 inch so its a bit low for really big dogs. So far its been puppy proof- he chewed on it and its held together, he's dragged it around and it still looks great. So overall its a very good dog bed. I'd just like a bit thicker foam at the bottom.

Worth the wait
My German Shepherd Ramses is a rescued dog. He spent the last 4 months of his life in cages. He was found as a stray on the street and brought into an animal shelter. Most shelters euthanize older dogs pretty quickly-some within 3 to 7 days. Somehow that shelter could not bring itself to do so. Its not surprising to understand why, when you see him. There is a nobility and sweetness, great intelligence and dignity about this dog that makes everyone want to love him. He was rescued from the shelter by an organization that does stellar work, and they had to keep him there for a good 3 months even though I had seen him mid June and wanted to adopt him. The management, of the apartment complex where I stayed would not allow German shepherds. Instead of giving up the dog I decided to go rent a house. It took 3 months but I finally found one which had a great large backyard with a fence. When I decided to order stuff for him I wanted the very best in terms of comfort and also for his joints since he is an older dog. This guy has suffered so much trauma, and I want him to have the very best in life for the rest of his life as much as possible-and that includes a lot of love and care. This bed atracted my attention especially when I read the reviews, I also forwarded the information to a scientist dog trainer who approved the material being used to create the bed.It took a little over 2 weeks to arrive but it has been worth the wait. When we got it yesterday, Ramses took one look at it and went straight to it and sat down. Not just him all the humans in the house wanted to steal the bed-its so comfortable and well made.I would recommend this over any other bed.

2 months of use, and stuffing is coming out of the middle :(
When I received the bed, I was thrilled - beautiful color, very plush. Gave this to my 90lb greyhound for Christmas - 2 months later, there are 3 holes in the middle of the bed and stuffing is coming out of it. Unfortunately, this bed didn't hold up quite like others he's had.

Not as strong as I was hoping for
It won’t survive an aggressive playful dog. This is by now the sixth bed I purchased from different manufacturers. I was hoping this one would last longer for the price. It took less than an hour after getting it for my dog to tear the first hole and get the foam stuffing out.I can’t totally blame the manufacturer. But perhaps they could have reinforced the arms.

My dog loves it, but....
We have a Black Lab/Great Dane mix and he's huge. We got the extra large size bed and it's the first dog bed that actually fits him. He loves it - especially having the bolster pillow to rest his big head on. My complaint is that the inside bottom cushion is just flimsy egg crate foam...I was expecting an actual pillow. Also, it's great you can remove the covers to wash them but it's a real pain trying to get the foam egg crate bottom back inside the cover. Bottom line - a great bed for a large dog who loves couches - but I wonder how long it will last since the egg crate bottom is flimsy and will tear easily. A good bed but overpriced without a real stuffed bed cushion.

Fantastic bed, a little bigger than expected
This is the most comfortable dog bed I have ever seen. In fact, I like to lie on it and watch TV. The filling is a soft but strong foam that holds it's shae and keeps the dog (oe me!) well padded from the floor. The bolsters around the side are a little firmer but still plenty soft so that they support the dog. The only issue I had with this bed is that it was much larger than we expected. We measured out how big it would be based on the description. but it is a lot bigger. So, unless you have a St Bernard or Mastiff, or multiple dogs, you don't need an extra large. A large would be fine for any lab, collie, shepherd type breed. Overall though, a terrifc product. Our dog loves to curl up on it and rest his head on the "arm-rest".
