Madigan Again

Each time that Kathleen Madigan announces she's putting together a new comedy CD or DVD, I always think, "Oh, how could she possibly be funnier than her last one??" It's as if she accepts that as a challenge. When I received her latest CD, "Madigan Again", I loaded it into the car stereo and then spent the next hour -- by myself -- laughing hysterically at her "takes" on the cost of U.S. postage stamps, energy-saving light bulbs in her parents' home, and (my favorite) the calls to prayer that interrupted her sleep every four hours during her USO tour in Afghanistan. Everyone can relate to the every-day life observations that Ms. Madigan offers up. If you can listen to this CD without being amused, then maybe you need to try one of the pills from her mother's miscellaneous "All-Stars" bottle!

If Laughter IS the best medicine than this woman is a skilled physician!60 minutes of sharp, clever, and thoroughly entertaining comedy. Ms Madigan delivers intelligent humor with perfect timing. The only down side for me, was the occasional use of the f-bomb ... she has such an amazing command of the English language she really didn't need it to make her point. I am grateful though that it was not ever-present in her routine. Too many comics go to profanity as almost a crutch, as if they can't string a sentence together without a curse word someplace in there. Keep in mind though, I still gave her five stars because she is simply that gifted.

I think Kathleen Madigan is by far the best female and all around comedian. Such a normal sense of humor and she proves very well that you can be extremely funny without being sexual or filthy. Have all of her dvds and awaiting the release of "Bothering Jesus" which I've seen and all I can say is that she gets better and better. She's one of us.

The problem with Kathleen Madigan is that she is not more prolific. Every routine I have ever seen or heard just slays me. She absolutely must put out more CDs. Listening to her becomes an addiction, she is that spot on and hilarious. God bless that she stopped smoking. That means more years us flat thinking fans get to glimpse her kaleidoscope mind. Buy this for the best time of your life, but try to drag it out by not listening to it at one sitting.

I wrote a review before, and purchased the CD again as a gift. She is THAT GOOD! Some of Kathleen's insights spring from her trip as an entertainer to the troops in Afghanistan. She was traveling with her fellow comedian and buddy, Louis Black. There was all fresh, new material, along with references to her mom and dad, which are always hilarious, but I still have to confess my favorite of all her CDs is "In Other Words..." this is good-you will laugh. Add it to your collection if you want to follow Madigan's body of work. She's a TREASURE!

I absolutely adore this watching this woman as she takes you through the drunken labyrinth of her mind. I am a huge stand up fan who lists the likes of Lewis Black on my top favorites. I love how with Kathleen Madigan we get the "Lewis Black sarcasm " in female form. Her cleaned up "family rated" Kathy Griffin "Drunken Catholic" humor keeps me in stitches as does her impressions of her aging parents and the antics between she and her mother. ( The Pill at the bottom of her moms purse) She is absolutely hysterical and I am NEVER disappointed by a purchase regarding her. Highly recommended to anyone with a great sense of humor seeking less raunch and more edge when it comes to another persons view on subjects ranging from Religion, to Travel. Five Stars for this DVD! Enjoy!

My favorite comedian ever!!! Kathleen Madigan takes every day situations that we all have to deal with; and makes you laugh so hard, you start crying! This year was the saddest year ever for me, my husband passed away. Watching Madigan Again was the first laugh I had this year. Truly simply FUNNY! Bobee

Kathleen Madigan is one of my favorite comedians, and her new special is just as hilarious as previous ones. With biting wit and self-awareness, she turns relatable adult-life follies into hilarity. Definitely recommend seeing her live, if you get the chance!
