Molasses is food for soil micro-organisms which bring your soil to life! The granular form of molasses is easily applied with other amendments or fertilizers. Feeding the soil micro-organisms stimulates their growth and activity, which results in more organic material in the soil being processed into a form more easily absorbed by the plants. It is recommended that molasses be applied even if no other fertilizer or amendment is used. Also is a minor source of trace minerals. Application Recommendations: Apply 10 to 20 lbs./1,000 sq. ft. on lawns, gardens, and beds. Can also be used as feed supplements for farm animals.

Purchased for Ant Control but did wonders for the grass instead
I originally purchased this product for an organic solution to controlling fire ants. Along with this purchased, I purchased orange oil which is supposed to help dissolve the exoskeleton of insects. As an organic solution to controlling ants, its just doesn't work:( I swear the ants were laughing at me as they continued to marched on one by one unaffected by the above product.On a more positive note, this product did work wonders for my lawn which is why I gave it 4 out of 5 stars.

Works great for the gardens
Works great for the gardens, sprinkle over an area to help improve microbial activity and jump start them or just give them a boost in the spring. I used it for new plantings in previously sterilized grass yard. sprinkled in and/or use liquid molasses and then mulched the area.
