How Many DVD-Audio Discs Do YOU Own?
I own one, The Beatles Love, which was a CD/DVD-Audio package. It was also an event when it was released back in 2006, 81 minutes of remixed/remastered Beatles bliss, blessed by the remaining Beatles (and that horrible Ono woman). If you had a really good surround sound system, you were transported. So, how does this Mannheim disc compare? It doesn't. While it does state at the top of the case, DVD MUSIC, I was browsing Amazon's Movies & TV section, looking for new concerts. This is NOT a concert. This is not a worthwhile purchase.

THERE IS NO VIDEO!
Very disappointed. I have the CD, but this was a DVD so I expected it to have a video. Much of what I enjoy is watching them make their unique music. When I played it, it just showed a green pattern, so I wasted my money! The description needs to be very clear, it is effectively really a CD with upgraded sound with NO REAL VIDEO.

Amazing surround sound mix!
I just read the other reviews of this DVD and am very sad to see how misinformed these reviewers are. There is not a problem with this DVD at all. The problem is that there isn't enough information about the DVD to let people know exactly what they are buying. So this is what you are buying. You are buying an amazing collection of Mannheim Steamroller's classic Christmas music that has been remastered and mixed into Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound. If you do not have a surround sound system then buying this DVD would be totally pointless, but if you have a surround sound system in your home, then this DVD is for you. The songs, in this new mix, sound totally incredible. The highlight of the DVD is definitely, Carol of the Bells. It sounds outstanding in surround sound! This is a DVD audio disc, which means that audio is all you get. There are no videos to go along with the music. If CDs could play surround sound then I'm sure that is what Mannheim Steamroller would have used, but DVDs are the only medium that can play surround sound. That is the reason why it is on DVD.Bottom line, if you love Mannheim Steamroller and have a surround sound system, than buy this DVD!

Look at the jacket cover before you buy one with many selections you already have.
Have always loved their sound but this is the last one I’ll buy. I finally decided thats enough duplicates from year to year.

Different but beautiful and dynamic
Christmas music surely is different but as a first DVD-Audio disc it is superb on my 9.2 surround system. Crank it up and enjoy. O Tanenbaum will knock your socks off and Greensleeves is gorgeous.

Surround yourself and Celebrate Christmas
This is a wonderful collection of Christmas songs from various albums mixed into 5.1. Carol of the Bells is especially grand!! Celebration, as Chips daughter pointed out, sounds like it should open the Olympics!!

Sizeable Mannheim Xmas collection with an excellent 5.1 surround mix...thanks Amazon
I didn't love every track on this DVDA, but there were more than enough to please me. The real treat is the hidef surround mix, which varied in approach from song to song. Some used the surrounds for ambiance while others had discrete instrument placement so you were sitting right in the middle. I only wish Chip Davis would give the same treatment to all the Fresh Aire series. Since most of those albums clocked in under 40 minutes, you could probably put them all on about three or four DVDAs as a box set. There's an idea. Great work though.Very pleased.
