2023-09-26 This is an update to my review dated 2022-05-05. The Lovell Tec Password Pro reset key has been found to successfully remove/reset the Windows local logon password on a Windows 10 Pro computer. The difficulties encountered previously must have been due to error(s) on my part and I apologize to Lovell Tec. A Password Pro2 version will be offered in the future and I plan to purchase that new release. 2022-05-05 This review is for the Lovell Tec Password Pro Windows logon reset key, purchased from Amazon and delivered via First Class Mail by Hillstar Consumer Group, Dallas, Texas. The key was purchased for evaluation and tested on a Windows 10 desktop for which the Local Logon password was actually known. It was intended to join a number of other password reset products for my personal use. The test failed miserably. This reset key program appeared to boot and load correctly. After loading, various useful information was displayed for a selected user, such as: Password Hint (only if this information was entered when the password was first created) Last Logon Logon Count Last Incorrect Account Expires Password Last Set After selecting the desired user and pressing the "Password Reset" button, the following message was displayed: The password has been reset for user XXXXXXXXXX You can now logon without entering a password Not only did the program not clear the known password, it changed the known logon password to something unknown (remember, this was an evaluation . . . the original password was known). It was then necessary to use a known good program to reset/blank the unknown password created by the Lovell Tec reset key. This problem was brought to the attention of the Lovell Tec website but there has been no reply in more than a month. This item should not be permitted to be offered by Amazon until the problem is corrected.

Works as advertised! Won’t crack windows 10 and up but 7and 8 I can personally tell you it did the job very quickly and effortlessly!

Very useful for anyone who has forgotten an old password on an old computer. Handy took for any IT help desk guy who is the goto for family and friends.

I was trying to reset a lost password so I could boot up an old HP laptop running Win XP at work. I think you need administrator privileges for this to work which we don't have because IT had their way with it decades ago. Now they tell us it's too old for them to help us with. The laptop refused to boot from the USB key. I think this should be mentioned. Basically - shame on us for losing the password. I didn't want to give it a bad review because not having admin rights is a situation you wouldn't normally have except at work. Also I remember the old HPs had some proprietary quirks and they don't use a Phoenix BIOS.

Came in on time it did take me a good few minutes to fully figure out how to use it but once I got it it works great

Wow. This actually worked. We forgot our password to an old laptop protected to keep the kids off it. Our hint was “Hahaha (kids name) hahahaha”. I guess we had a sense of humor years ago but ironically now we were the ones locked out being laughed at. I bought this key for my husband …who is not great with technology. Handed it to him (thinking he is going to need me to do it.) But he actually got it to work without me. So apparently it is THAT easy!

This does not work with Windows 10. I tried it on multiple machines.. tablets, laptops, mini, and stick pcs and same failure it displays a screen that fails to populate various fields and locks up the entire machine with no way to gracefully exit... you must power off the machine. It sounded too good to be true but I was desparate to impress a friend and I bought it - I should have known better. I didn't contact the seller as Im sure they know that it doesn't work and they just have the moxie to sell it anyway. Maybe it works with Windows 98.
